1st I give and bequeath to my beloved wife LUCIE RICHARDSON all of my real estate for her sole benefit after my
death during her natural life and widowhood it being the same tract or parcel of land on which I now reside containing two hundred and fifty acres more or
less, and at her (LUCIE) death the same land shall be equally divided between my two sons ASA & JESSE RICHARDSON each share to be allotted as follows: ASA's
portion on the west of the tract, containing one hundred & twenty five acres and JESSE's portion on the Eastern portion of the tract containing one hundred
& twenty five acres during his natural life then the title to said JESSE put[?] in Real Estate to invest to his son LEANDE DORSON RICHARDSON forever. 7th I
give & bequeath to my son JESSE a certain parcel of hogs ranging at the house and to my son ASA a certain parcel of <word missing> longing[?] on the west
side of plantation. In witness whereof I the said GIDEON RICHARDSON SR. have hereunto set my
hand this the the 15th day Jany 1880, In the presence of these witnesses
Halifax County, Probate Court 1880 A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of GIDEON RICHARDSON deceased is exhibited for probate in Open Court by ASA RICHARDSON and JESSE RICHARDSON the Executors therein named and the due execution thereof by the said GIDEON RICHARDSON is proved by the oath and examination of THOMAS GREEN and JONES RICHARDSON two of the subscribing witnesses thereto. It is therefore considered by the Court that the said paper writing and <illegible> past thereof is the last will and testament of the said GIDEON RICHARDSON, and it is adjudged that the same is sufficient to pass both real and personal property and the same is ordered to be recorded and filed. And therefore the said ASA RICHARDSON and JESSE RICHARDSON Executors as aforesaid duly qualifies as such by taking and subscribing the oath required by law,
