Thomas Hopkins WRAY was born 3/29/1830 in Reidsville (Rockingham County), NC, died approximately 1885 (location unknown). He was married to Mary M. JONES, born 10/8/1849 in Johnston County, NC. The couple lived in Angier (Harnett County), where they bore ten children (not sure if all were born in Angier however):

BUTTS / DEAL November 10, 2002
I have been searching the census records to find my husband's grandparents. In 1880 (Black River) I found Jessie BUTTS married to Dillame (writing blurred) with a 10 year old daughter Louisa and 3 year old Lilly. On the 1900 census Jessie is on the same census and in the same community Louisa age 30 is married to John E. DEAL and also on the 1910 census. On 1910 there was a William Deal living next door who was just 9 years younger that John E. DEAL. William lists his mother Eliza age 80 living in his home. I wonder if this is the brother and mother of John E. Deal also. I have been able to identify these children of Louisa and John Deal from the three census records. Children: Emma 1888, William Frank 1889, Catherine 1891, Margaret Pearl 1893, Ada 1894, Susan Lalon 1896, John A. 1897, Flossie 1898, Luda 1903, Irvin 1905, Aver 1907, Mae 1908, Ina 1910, James 1911, Weda 1912. James Calvin MOORE b 2 Nov 1866 married Rossia BUTLER b 11 July 1876. They had one child, Heneritta Moore b 17 Feb 1906 married Harvey NORRIS b 15 June 1908. John Randall Moore b ABT 1877 married Julia BYRD b ABT 1878. They had 3 children, James Archie Moore b 1 August 1902, Annie Moore b 30 April 1907 married Lester Martin LUCAS b 30 March 1907, Johnnie Richard Moore b 9 Nov. 1909. Arlanda (Landy) Moore b ABT 1880 married Narcissus Byrd b 1 July 1878. Do you have information on these people would you share information. Thanks Larry W. Moore
BROWN / COOK October 19, 2002
I am trying to research family history- My family is centered in the Cumberland County- Harnett County area JOHN COOK is my g-g grandfather who married Viney BROWN- census shows them to be in an area called Barbecue Township. They 10-12 children. When Viney died around 1880- John Cook remarried a woman- first name Margaret and they had a child ( I believe adopted by John ) name of John. John my G-G grandfather I believe was born in NC around 1827-1832- but his family was originally from either Jura or Lairg Scotland.Viney was of the Lumbee Nation. I am desperatly trying to find information about the SEARCY family. I know the family has been in Harnett County since the 1920 census as I was able to find them. My grandmother Cattie (SEARCY) BRADFORD is also burried there. Can you tell me where else I could look to find them Thank You, Lori Lucas
