Dora's husband, Gustavus Beauregard "G.B." Hooten died in 1897. He was listed as a physician in Sladesville, NC in the 1896 Business Directory. According to a Delayed Birth Certificate, he delivered his own son, Dennis Flint Hooten, in March 1889. He was living with his parents, John & Mary E. Hooten, in Hyde County in 1870 and with his widowed mother and siblings in 1880.
