The second roll of film was for Engelhard Christian Church which yielded over 250 images of membership rolls, church minutes, deaths, Constitution & By Laws, etc. from 1912-1975.  These records are cited to Mrs. Barbara Etheridge of Engelhard in 1975.  The Engelhard Disciple Church and the Engelhard Christian Church are one in the same (both members of the Disciples of Christ denomination).  According to records on this second roll of film, this church was organized at Engelhard on October 1, 1912 where Arnold V. Swindell was elected Clerk; E.L. Silverthorne was elected Elder; J.D. Selby was elected Chairman of the Board of Deacons; Warren S. Harris was elected as Deacon; Miss Lessie Selby was elected the Organist; and Joshua Swindell, Jr. was elected Treasurer.  All were elected for 2 year terms.

There appeared to be about 57 charter members of this church in 1912.  The list of members was revised on August 18, 1935 and several times in the ensuing years. The names were just helter-skelter and never in alphabetical order which is the way they are listed in the table below.  It's a  combination of all of the lists from 1912 to 1975 with notes that were penciled in on some of the entries.  This is, by no means, all of the members but a good portion of them.  If you think you might have had an ancestor that frequented this church I'll be glad to look the name up on the microfilm to see what I can find.  Just send an e-mail to kaymidgettsheppard@gmail.com and put Engelhard Christian Church in the subject line.
