Enlisted 8 Jul 1863 in Washington, NC by Lt Stevens for a 3 year term.  Another enlistment date of 17 Sep 1863 in Washington, NC by Lt. Buwan.   At the time of his enlistment, Hannibal was age 17, 5' 21/2" tall, light complexion, light hair, grey eyes, born Hyde Co., NC, a farmer.  Remarks:  Mustered out June 27, 1865 at New Berne, NC, was a drummer during a part of his enlistment.
