By the certificate of the Celrk of the Court of pleas & Quarter Sessions of the County of Hyde at its session Feby Term 1849 & a ______ ______ by said Clerk executed by Thos. R. Gibbs, Shff for Annanias Sadler, Josiah G. Jarvis, Edmond Slade, Thos. M. Mann, Amasa Simpson, Caleb B. Stowe & Robert Burrus that they & each of said persons was duly elected wardens of the poor for the County of Hyde & they being notified to attend at the Court House in the County of Hyde on this 28th day of May 1849 & they the said wardens thus elected met & before took the oaths preceeded? to be taken by public officers & also before me took & subscribed to the following oath, viz:
I, Annanias Sadler, Josiah G. Jarvis, Edmond Slade, Thos. M. Mann, Amasa Simpson, Caleb B. Stowe & Robert M. Burrus do swear that I shall honestly and faithfully discharge my office as warden of the poor to the best of my skill and ability according to law.
