Redmond Benson/Benston, son of Thaddeus L. Benson and Sarah J. Murray, was born Aug. 17, 1911 in Hyde County and died Mar. 12, 1984. He married Ethel Stanley, daughter of Ed & Lizzie Stanley, on October 6, 1933 in Hyde County. Ethel was born Jan. 15, 1911 and died June 12, 2000 (see obituary for Ethel Benston) Ethel & Redmond are buried in the Faithful Hannah Church Cemetery in Middletown, Hyde Co., NC. They had 10 known children:

6 ) Edna Marie Benston - b. Nov. 9, 1943; married Elijah Slade on Dec. 16, 1961 in Swan Quarter, NC; d. May 14, 2000 (see obituary); buried Faithful Hannah Church Cemetery
7 ) Cecil Benston - b. Mar. 21, 1945; never married
8 ) Leona Benston - b. Mar. 19, 1947; married Wilbert Beckwith who is buried in the Brooks-Cox Cemetery
9 ) Pearlene Benston - b. Dec. 31, 1949; never married
10) Dorine Benston - b. Sept. 3, 1955; married James Rascoe
