Cassandra Gibbs, daughter of William Gibbs & Melissa Tooley, was born in Hyde County on Jan. 11, 1782 and died in Hyde County on Sept. 27, 1868.  She married Jonathan Harris (1778-1851) and this union produced 8 known children.  Jonathan & Cassandra lived in the Mattamuskeet Dist. of Hyde County in 1850.  By 1860 Cassandra is widowed and living in the home of Noah & Belinda Sadler, her son-in-law and daughter.

Permission for posting this wonderful old tintype is given by Mary "Bobbie" Fisher Nantz who said it came to her from her mother, Cassandra Belinda (Sadler) Fisher.  She was named for her grandmother, Belinda (Harris) Sadler and her great-grandmother, Cassandra (Gibbs) Harris.
