Foster Jarvis (1858-1935) married 1^st Mary Jane Gower on Jan. 5, 1887 when Mary Jane was 17 and Foster was 28.  Their children were:
   1.  Mamie Eleanor Jarvis was born Nov. 27, 1887.  Mamie was married on Sept. 27, 1905 to Sackville Montague Swaby-Smith, a Church of Christ clergyman who was born in England.  Mamie & Sackville lived in Iowa, Minnesota and Vermont among other places.  Sackville died in 1927 and Mamie in 1989 in Canada.  Both are buried in West Lorne Cemetery in Elgin Co., Ontario, Canada
   2.  Leo Cromwell Jarvis was born July 12, 1889 and died Dec. 16, 1905 [Bible record states Dec. 16th but the newspaper article below indicates the 13th]

Elizabeth City, N.C., Dec. 13 - The bodies of Leo JARVIS and Carroll COX were brought here this morning by Capt. P.W. MIDGETT of the schooner Irene, who found them late yesterday afternoon near Long Shoals, Hyde County.  They were in a shad boat which was half filled with water.  The men met their death in the storm Sunday, which was terrific along the Carolina coast.  (The Washington Post - December 14, 1905; pg. 11)

Foster Jarvis married 2^nd Nellie Claudia Lincoln on Aug. 8, 1894 when Claudia was 25 and Foster was 35.  Their children were:
   1.  Annie Lucas Jarvis was born Apr. 29, 1895 & died June 8, 1911
   2.  Helen Eugene Jarvis was born Dec. 11, 1896 & died Sept. 14, 1919.  She married Carlos Randolph Berry on Apr. 28, 1915
   3.  Foster Lincoln Jarvis was born June 5, 1898.  In 1918 he was listed as a seaman working in New York, NY.  He died Oct. 14, 1943.  He married Mattie Belle Gibbs on Oct. 19, 1918 when Mattie was 15 and Foster was 19.
   4.  Harry Swindell Jarvis was born Nov. 16, 1899 & died Feb. 19, 1900
   5.  Nellie Claudia Jarvis was born Apr. 11, 1901 & died Jan. 9, 1968.  She married Seth Bridgman Credle on July 7, 1920,  Claudia was 19 & Seth was 23.
   6.  Magnolia Mann Jarvis was born May 5, 1902 & died May 31, 1903
   7.  Walter Barrington Jarvis was born May 5, 1902 & died May 6, 1903

Foster Jarvis married 3^rd Martha Ann "Mattie" (Patrick) Whitley on Oct. 5, 1919 when Mattie was 47 and Foster was 60.
