 To Whom it May Concern:
     My Last Will and Testament.

The suit of furniture in my North bed-room upstairs to Irene Collins, mattress, 2 pillows, 4 sheets, 4 pillow cases, 3 blankets and 2 quilts, 4 good towels, my sitting room heater, my upholstered rocking chair and two straight chairs, white enamel bowl and pitcher, and one commode, knives and forks, six tea spoons, six all? dishes in kitchen cabinet, kitchen oil stove and kitchen table.  Pictures are marked on the back to whom they go.  Robena Midyette $50.00 to keep my lot at the cemetery, Maggie Carter the china closet and all the contents.  Convert everything into cash that belongs to me.  Pay Irene Collins one hundred dollars, $100.00.  Mrs. Minnie Spencer, fifty dollars ($50.00).  Jennie Midyette or heirs.  Henry Clay Carter Atty. and Ruth Chadwick to share equally the balance.

Mrs. Wm. Credle, being duly sworn says that the affiant found the paper writing date October 26, 1939, signed by Janie Chadwick, which purports to be the Last Will and Testament of said Janie Chadwick, among the valuable papers and effect of the said Janie Chadwick after her death.  This January 18, 1943.

[NOTE]  Janie Chadwick, daughter of John Midyette Chadwick and Nancy Selby Spencer, was born June 4, 1882 and died unmarried on Jan. 1, 1943 in Columbia, Tyrrell Co., NC.  Her obituary ran in the Dare County Times on Friday, January 8, 1943.  Janie is buried in Fairfield Cemetery.
