Apr. 24, 1903 - Benjamin J. Midyette states that Benjamin J. Midyette [Sr.], late of Hyde County, is dead without leaving any will or testament and that he is the proper person entitled to Letters of Administration on the estate which is valued at about $200.00 and that the following persons are entitled as heirs and distributees thereof:
1) Mrs. Belle Midyette (the widow)
2) Benjamin J. Midyette
3) Sally Midyette
4) Annie Midyette
5) Benia Midyette
6) Florence Swindell, wife of Addison Swindell
7) Charley Midyette

[NOTE] Little Benjamin Jackson Midyette, Sr. was born Mar. 17, 1833 & died Oct. 4, 1902. He married 4 times:
1^st to Dorcas Selby (1829-1855) on Dec. 16, 1851. No known children were born from this union.

2^nd to Amanda Ann Gibbs (1837-1869) on Nov. 5, 1856 and they had 5 children:
    1) Laura Ann Midyette was born Oct. 11, 1857 & died Mar. 3, 1858.
    2) Susanna Midyette was born Feb. 21, 1860 & died July 20, 1864.
    3) Sarah Jane "Sallie" Midyette was born Mar. 9, 1863 & died Mar. 12, 1940 in New Bern and is buried there. She married Joseph Gaskill.
    4) Mary Lavinia Midyette was born July 19, 1865 & died Sept. 22, 1865.
    5) Thomas Jackson Midyette was born Jan. 3, 1869 & died Sept. 28, 1870.

3^rd to Mary Eliza Boomer (1848-1885) on Jan. 20, 1870 and they had 7 children:
    1) Orpha Lindsey Midyette was born Nov. 6, 1870 & died Feb. 23, 1871
    2) Annie Gertrude Midyette was born Nov. 14, 1871 & died Feb. 15, 1948. She never married.
    3) Florence Elizabeth Midyette was born Apr. 16, 1875 & died Mar. 27, 1945. She 1^st married Addison Duranta Swindell on Aug. 3, 1892. They divorced and she married 2^nd a Whitehead. She is buried in Farmville, Pitt Co., NC.
    4) Benjamin Jackson Midyette, Jr. was born Feb. 6, 1876 & died Nov. 12, 1952. He married Julia Depperdill Neal on Dec. 31, 1912.
    5) Robenia "Benia" Midyette was born Oct. 20, 1877 & died Nov. 4, 1971. She married Ernest Claude Armstrong on June 26, 1907 in New Bern, NC.
    6) Charles Thomas Midyette was born Dec. 22, 1879 & died June 17, 1963 in New Bern, NC. He married Annie Ethel Weston on Jan. 22, 1902.
    7) James Emery Midyette was born Mar. 11, 1882 & died Nov. 6, 1901.

4^th to Isabella "Belle" Thomas (1852-1932) on Apr. 22, 1886 in Carteret Co., NC and they had no known children.
