Funeral of Mr. Henry Rudisill
From the April 11, 1913 Maiden News section of the Newton paper
The funeral of Mr. Henry Rudisill at the Maiden Lutheran church last Thursday was attended by the largest crowd ever seen at a funeral in this section. The services were conducted by his pastor Rev. J.L. Cromer. The seating capacity of the church was taxed to its utmost. Many failed to get in. The large concourse of friends that attended the funeral shows the high esteem in which Mr. Rudisll was held. The burial took place at the old Salem church a few miles from town.

Rememberances of Visits to Maiden
Since running the Maiden News it has been a great pleasure to us to make our weekly visits to this good town. On our first visit we remember especially of meeting Mr. Henry P. Rudisill who might be called one of the fathers of the town of Maiden. We remember his hearty greetings that he gave us on every visit. One week ago we visited this town as usual and talked with Mr. Rudisill and he told us how much our efforts to boost the town was appreciated. The very next day we received a message announcing the sudden death of this fatherly old man. Our last visit of course was enjoyed but a tinge of sadness would come over us as we think that one of our closest friends was gone. Mr. Rudisill will be missed in his town.
