The North Carolina Yearbook Database is an index of students included in yearbooks from across the state. In many cases, the yearbooks indexed for the database are from the 1960s and earlier. Additionally, the focus has been to index primarily, the Senior classes.
The index includes the following fields: student name, where they were from (if included in the yearbook), school name, yearbook name, yearbook date, and link to online yearbook (if available).
IMPORTANT: 5 Things to Know Before Using the Database
✅ most entries in the database are from earlier than the 1950s
✅ use the graphic below to orient yourself to the site and how to use it
✅ there are more than 35,000 entries from more than 50 schools; the database can take about 5-10 seconds to load data
✅ the site is best used on the desktop; using it on your phone can be challenging due to the small screen size
✅ many records have a link to the yearbook online; you can visit the yearbook online to search for a photo. Not all yearbooks had photos in all years, but give it a try!

About the database: The NC Yearbook database was created by Taneya Koonce, Assistant State Coordinator of the NCGenWeb Project. The database is hosted using Notion. Most entries in the database are collected from yearbooks digitized and hosted online by DigitalNC.
