Will of Daniel Bourdeaux

In the name of God Amen, this 20th. Day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen.

I Daniel Bourdeaux, Sr. of New Hanover County and State of North Carolina being weak of body, but of sound mind and memory I therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and Knowing it is appointed for all men to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all, I commend my Soul into the hands of almighty God that give it (us) for my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner nothing doubting but at general resurrection to receive the same from the mighty power of God, as touching my wordly concerns wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to keep me with in this life.

I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form:

Item: I give and bequeath to my Daughter Pricilla Evans Five hundred and eighty acres of Land lying in the Fork of Cyprus and Bee branch being part of the tract of 640 patented by me.

Item 2nd: I give and bequeath to my Son Daniel (??) Parcels containing four hundred acres.

Item 3rd.: I give and bequeath to my Son Moses Bourdeaux the other half of the above four hundred acres to be equally divided between him and my Son Daniel.

Item 4th.: I leave my perishable Property consisting of negroes stock of all kind Farming utensils etc to be equally divided between my children: the negroes to be valued and parcel'd in equal lotts as near as practicable care being taken to include in each lott a proper proportion of small and grown ones and as far as possible family to go together provided notwithstanding it is my will that my Dauughter Pricilla Evans shall have the family of negroes I purchased of Moses Ritter, and, her four children Jan, Jack, Rachel and Bob, I do further hereby want the proper right and title of the aforesaid negroes together with all and singular other property which she may inherit of me, in my said Daughter Pricilla Evans and the heirs of her body.
