In the name of God Amen, I Mary Bludworth of the County of New Hanover
and State of North Carolina, being weak in body, but strong in mind do
make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form as
follows.
1st, I give and bequeath unto my Nephew John H. Bludworth my Negro girl
Juda Prisilla daughter of my Negro woman Julia to him and to his heirs.
2nd, I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Jeremiah Hand my Negro Mary Ann
daughter of my Negro woman Amanda Prisilla to him and his heirs.
3rd, I give and bequeath unto my Niece Margaret I Hand my Negro woman
Amanda Prisilla to her and her heirs.
4th, I give and bequeath unto my Nephew William A. Bludworth my Negro
woman Julia and her children, namely Eliza, Peter, Andrew, Almira and
Francis. I also give and bequeath unto my aforesaid Nephew William A.
Bludworth the land whereon I now live containing two hundred acres with
all the improvements with the consideration that my aforesaid Nephew
William A. Bludworth pay to the Board of foreign Missions the sum fifty
dollars to be paid by Annual payments of ten dollars untill the whole
of the above sum of Fifty Dollars is paid. It is my desire that my
friends give me a decent burial and the expenses be paid by legatees in
proportion to their legacy. Also all my just debts….
I do hereby appoint my Nephew William A. Bludworth my lawful Executor
to execute this my last Will and Testament to all intents and purposes.
I do hereby publish and declare this my last Will and Testament this
the 27th day of February 1847. Signed Sealed Published and Declared by
the testatrix to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of
Duncan Henderson

State of North Carolina New Hanover County Court September Term 1848
This paper writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Mary
Bludworth is produced to Court and duly proven by the Oath of Duncan
Henderson and T. J. Bludworth the subscribing witnesses thereto
whereupon it is considered by the Court that the same is the last Will
and Testament of said Mary Bludworth and as such ordered to be recorded
and filed; and William A. Bludworth the Executor therein named duly
qualified as such.
