The farthest back we have gone is James Rowe, born ca 1760. I am a descendant of his son Christopher Howard Rowe, born 1811. James Rowe was last known to be in Onslow county, NC, but I don't know where he was born. He died ca 1824. James was supposed to have married Kesiah Russell , had a son named Jesse who was a noted or gifted whistler. Then James married Anna Howard in Onslow county. They had 3 children. My line of Rowes came from England to Boston,MA as far as I know. There was a John Rowe in New Hanover county, think he died ca 1782. His descendants lived around Pender county. I think a daughter married a Rooks. His family was supposed to have ties to MA. but I can't prove he was kin to my James Rowe. There was a Gaius Rowe in Onslow that may have been kin but I can't prove that either. He may have been a brother to James, I don't know. Gauis died ca 1814 in Onslow.

I have no information on Julia other than her name and that she remarried shortly after Matthew's death to James Malpass, Sr. who was born about 1760.
Their son Lewton Orr b. about 1780, d. 1851 was married to Lydia Williamson b. 1792 d. after 1880.
Their son Tully Williamson Orr b. 1815 d. April 1892 married Mary M. Motte b. 1822 d. 1892.
Their son Frank Marion Orr b. 1856 d. 1905 married Alice Emmaline Lewis,
daughter of Simon Wright Lewis and Amanda Carolyn Brinson. Frank's second wife, Mary Alice Jones b. Oct. 1, 1862, d. May 21, 1914. She was reported to
have been a school teacher.
I have never been able to locate the graves of any of the above. It's thought they might have been buried on the farms they lived on and I would
love to find their locations. I would also like to hear from anyone with information on the surnames of the Orr wives. They lived in the area of Currie, present day Pender County.

I'm looking for the origin of David Young (1774/75 - 1839) who lived in Bladen. The Bickfords and Youngs appear to have come to New Hanover County together from New England.
