In the name of God Amen…being of perfect sound mind and memory thanks
be to Allmyty God for his unspeakable Mercy, I make this my Last Will
and Testament..
Item 1 – All my just debts must be first paid and the five shillings
(unreadable) mony to all my children as lawful heirs of my boddy,
namely John Armstrong, Ann Armstrong, Mary Pierce, Alfred Armstrong,
Catherine Flanagan, Levina Light, Elizabeth Canady, Thomas Armstrong,
and I bequeath to my beloved wife, Mary C. Armstrong, all the balance
of what I possess in the world, including one horse bridle and saddle,
one riding chair and harness, one horse cart, together with all the
stock property that I possess including cattle, hogs, and so forth of
every kind together with all household and kitchen furniture including
one clock and so fourth with all my plantation Tules, Cooper Tules and
so forth. Together with all money due me including one note of one
hundred dollars on Thomas Johnston and Even Adkinson with all accounts
due from deferent pursons all of which I propose to the pursonal use
and benefit of the said Mary C. Armstrong in which I nominate and
appoint Mr. Jacob Wells and Mary C. Armstrong executor and executrix to
this my Last Will and Testament in witness hereof I do set my hand and
seal this November 1, 1848 in presence of Jacob Wells, Sr. and Jacob
Wells, Jr.
