Lovette Cemetery

The following is a complete listing of the tombstones in the Lovette Cemetery in Onslow County, NC.

Location From Piney Green road you turn onto Rocky Run Road. (located next to the Merrita Bread Store on Piney Green). Go down Rocky Run Road app. 3 1/2 miles and on the left hand side of the road you will see an iron sign that says Lovitt Family Cemetery. It’s next to a farmer’s field. This cemetery is old and looks as if many markers are missing.

  • Lovett, Sam A. – Feb. 29, 1912 to  Aug 5, 1939.  “Not my will, but thine be done. “
  • Lovett, William J. – June 4, 1866 to Apr. 9, 1945.  “Christ loved him and took him home.”
  • Lovette, William B. – 1832-1907
  • Lovitt, Charlie M. – Dec. 18, 1881 to Nov. 8, 1957.  “Christ loved him and took him home.” Father. (to the far left, sitting alone is a stone marker on 5th row).
  • Lovitt, Clara Hawkins – Sept. 16, 1854 to Oct 17, 1946.  “Behold God is my Shepherd now I will trust and not to be afraid.”
  • Lovitt, Daniel Henry – Mar. 13, 1886 to July 22, 1957.  “Twas hard to give thee up but thy will, oh God, be done.”
