Sheriff NUNN today received a warrant from the authorities of Onslow county for the arrest of Geo. W. THOMPSON, a 17-year-old colored youth, who is charged with an attempt to commit criminal assault on 6-year-old Louvinia MURRELL, colored in Onslow on August 28th. Though the crime is alleged to have been committed on the 29th of August, the warrant was obtained only a day or two ago, when THOMPSON left the county.

Geo. W. THOMPSON, the colored youth wanted in Onslow county for attempted criminal assault, has been captured and is in jail here now to await the authorities of Onslow. The officers here are inclined to the opinion that the charge against Thompson smacks of malicious prosecution on the part of the father of the girl whom it is charged Thompson assaulted.
