While browsing the Internet Archive tonight I came across this recently added item – a cookbook from the Women’s Society of Christian Service published in 1968.
The beginning pages of the cookbook includes a handwritten recipe for Rum Cake, and a brief history of the church. The Swansboro Methodist Church was founded March 1, 1871 and the first congregation included about 15 local families. Worship was held in the old Brick Store and in a house owned by Richard Webb.
