Welcome to the new Onslow County, NCGenWeb site. I am your new county coordinator, Taneya, and I am delighted to be working on enhancing the site. My interest in the county stems from my Koonce ancestors, who were slaves of the white Koonce family of Jones County. However, I have an interest in everyone with the Koonce surname, and the white Koonce family had cousins in Onslow County.
I do not live in North Carolina, so am not able to help with local research, but I will try my best to assist you as best I can should you have any questions.
With the new site design, almost all URLs are changing, so please update your bookmarks. You can check back often for updates by visiting or subscribing to this new blog. To learn more about me, you can visit my personal genealogy blog at www.taneya-kalonji.com/genblog/.

Corrected! I just copy & pasted that without looking at it too closely. I also shortened it and corrected another incorrect past tense verb. Thanks!
