Ward<br \/>\nJohn Mattocke DCC<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina<\/p>\n<p>To all to whom these presenses shall come one EDWARD WARD and ELIZABETH\u00a0the wife of Edward of this precinct of Carteret in the County of Bath &amp;\u00a0province of North Carolina. \u00a0Send Greetings\u00a0Know Ye that we the said EDWARD WARD and ELIZABETH his wife for &amp; in\u00a0consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds Curtn. money of North\u00a0Carolina in hands to us well &amp; truly paid by WILLIAM CONGLETON, Beaufort Locet?\u00a0in the County of Bath &amp; Provence of North Carolina.  The recept where of an do\u00a0hereby acknowledge and ourselves there with fully contented, satisfied and\u00a0paid.  Have given granted, bargained, sale, aliend, unfroffed?? conveyed,\u00a0confirmed, assignes, transfers &amp; set over and futher presents do fully freely &amp;\u00a0absolutely gives grants bargain, sell, alien, confess evry confirm ____? &amp; ___?\u00a0unto the said WILLIAM CONGLETON his heirs and assigns forever all that tract of\u00a0land situated &amp; lying along on Pamlico River in the Pricenct of Beaufort in the\u00a0County of Bath &amp; Province of North Carolina containing by estamation five\u00a0hundred seventy acres by the same more or less being a tract of land by us\u00a0lately patenited &amp; purchased which land was formerly surveyed by JOHN ALDRIDGE\u00a0deceased but patented and purchased by EDWARD WARD &amp; ELIZABETH his wife\u00a0sureviving heir of the said JOHN ALDRIDGE deceased.  Begining at a hickory that\u00a0parts this land &amp; the pland called PETER MIRSENS?? so running back into the\u00a0pocosen to an oak N 30  E 320  poles thence back to a Phinquasuin?  N 60  W 260\u00a0poles thence to an oak that parts this land from that which was formerly called\u00a0JAMES HOGGS  So30Wt to the river side 320 poles thence down Pamptico River to\u00a0the first Station.<\/p>\n<p>To have &amp; to hold the said tract or parcel of Land quantitie 520 acres\u00a0be the same more or less unto him the said WILLIAM CONGLETON his heirs an\u00a0assigns forever to his &amp; their only proper use and behoof forever and we the\u00a0said EDWARD WARD &amp; ELIZA his wife for us our heirs Exrs. Admrs. do Covenant\u00a0promise &amp; grant to Hrith?? the said William Congleton his heirs and assigns. \u00a0Shall &amp; lawfully may from time to time &amp; at all times forever here after\u00a0peaceabley &amp; quietly have hold use occupy possess &amp; enjoy the abarganed\u00a0puriched, with the appurtonances fru___? and Dor___? freely &amp; clearly granted,\u00a0bargains, sales, leases, mortagages, wills, entails, jointures, dowers,\u00a0judgements, executions, incumbrances &amp; ex____? whatsoever the fee rent of six\u00a0pences annually due for every hundred acres, only and always excepted. \u00a0In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and fixed our seals\u00a0this 22nd day of September &amp; in the fifth year of the reign of our Sovirign\u00a0Lord George the Seven____?
