Smith Jones, Henry Wise and wife (Maple Jones), and Sarah Jones to Thomas Jones
Date: Aug. 27, 1816This indenture made this Twenty seventh day of August, One Thousand Eight hundred and sixteen between Smith Jones, Henry Wise and Wife (Maple Jones), and Sarah Jones of the county of Craven and State of North Carolina of the one part and Thomas Jones in state afore said of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Sixty eight dollars good lawful money of the state afore said to them in hand paid by the said Thomas Jones the receipt there of is hereby fully acknowledged. That the said Smith Jones, Henry Wise and wife (Maple Jones) and Sarah Jones have given granted, bargained, sold and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell unto the said Thomas Jones his heirs and assigns forever all our rights and titles and all the rights that ever shall arise to us hereafter in a certain parcel of land lying and being in the County and State afore said and bounded as follows: Beginning at Trent Bridge and running from thence with John Mason (? ) line to the back line of the paten then with the back line of the paten to Solimon Land _____ then with his line To Trent Creek and then down the creek to the beginning. It being a parcel of land purchased by Thomas Shanefolk (?) from Henry Tillman on the East side of Trent Creek, Formally the property of Hynson (?) Wright _____ Thomas Jones to have and to hold the above mentioned land and premises to the same belonging free and clear from all manor of encumbrances whatsoever and the said Smith Jones and Henry Wise and wife (Maple Jones) and Sarah Jones do warrant and forever defend all the rights and titles unto the said Thomas Jones his heirs, Executors and administrators and assigns, Signed, Sealed and delivered this day above written in the presence of witnesses.

September Tw____ 1816. Then was the execution of the foregoing deed proved in open court and in due form of law by the oath of Robert Jones one of the subscribing witnesses.
