Eunice G. Yelverton
BAYBORO - Eunice G. Yelverton, 85, of Bayboro died Friday, October 14 at home. A funeral service was held Sunday, October 16, 3:30 pm, at Coley Funeral Home in Kenly with the Rev. Scott Fitzgerald officiating. Burial was in the Lamm Family Cemetery in Kenly. She is survived by two daughters, Cecelia Ann Stroup and Rebecca Chase, both of Bayboro; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Phyllis Yeargan Yokeley
Phyllis Yeargan Yokeley of Stonewall passed away March 17 at home. She is survived by her husband, Robert Ray Yokeley; her daughter, Tammy Erickson and husband, Calvin; two grandchildren, Stacie and Megan Erickson; sisters, Ellen Pemberton, Patricia Hamilton, and Peggy Smith; and brothers, Rex Yeargan and Sammy Yeargan. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Baldwin officiating. Clarence Edward York
Clarence Edward “Ed” York, 78, of Oriental passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, at CarolinaEast Medical Center. Ed was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, member of the Rainbow Masonic Lodge #479, and a Sudan Shriner. He retired from U.S. Civil Service, Cherry Point, after 28 years and then worked as a Pamlico County Sheriff’s Deputy, Animal Control, before retiring after 10 years with them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita York. He is survived by his son, Ronnie York; daughter, Ann Marie Colvin & husband, Charles; brother, Alfred York; and three grandchildren, Hollie York, Charles Nathan Colvin and Tommy Jackson. His memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with masonic rites by Rainbow Lodge#479 and military honors. Rev. Ray Griffin will be officiating. Rita Harris York, 74, of Oriental passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at CarolinaEast Medical Center. She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star and retired from the Pamlico Co. School System after nearly 30-years of teaching assistance. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Edward York; son, Ronnie York and wife, Leslie; daughter, Ann Marie Colevin and husband, Charles; and three grandchildren, Hollie York, Nathan Charles Colevin and Tommy Jackson. Her memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30th at Bryant Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Jerry B. Young, Sr.
Jerry B. Young Sr., 82, of 455 Mill Pond Road, Bayboro, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Oxford and relocated to New York during his youth. He was the owner of Emanuel Fuel Oil Company, retiring after 30 years of ownership. He attended Daily Bread of Life Church of Bayboro. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Prayer Tabernacle with the Rev. Willie officiating. Burial will be in Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. He is survived by two sons, James Young of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jerry Young Jr. of Long Island, N.Y.; six daughters, Hattie Y. Credle of Bayboro, Sharon Y. Gaines of Wyandanch, N.Y., Brenda Y. McMillian of Calverton, N.Y., Patricia Alfonso of Deltona, Fla., Connie Y. Scrubs of Arlington, Va., and Tempie Y. Jackson of Bayshore, N.Y.; one sister, Tempie Washington of Oxford; 29 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Joseph Lafayette Young
ORIENTAL - Joseph Lafayette Young, 88, of Oriental died July 13 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date. He was a World War II veteran of the US Merchant Marine and was at sea as a Merchant Seaman. He is survived by his wife, Mary Young of the home; two sons, Joseph Young of Oriental and Frederick Young of Staten Island, NY; one brother, Henry Young of Maywood, NJ; and one grandchild. Fredrick Frank Zimmerman
ORIENTAL - Fredrick "Fred" Frank Zimmerman, 82, of Oriental died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at home. He was an avid softball player and sports fan. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Roseanne Kolb Zimmerman; two sons, Wayne and Fred Zimmerman, both of the home; two daughters, Laura Dobson of Vermont and Susan Loprete of Oriental; two brothers, Richard and Robert Zimmerman, both of New York; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Bryant Funeral Home & Crematory, Alliance.
