Joseph Ceber "Joe" Alcock/Alcox was born in Tyrrell Co., NC on March 15, 1838 to Frederick Alcox and his wife Harriet (Spencer) Alcox. He married Ann Mariah/Maria Springle in Carteret Co., NC on June 1, 1865. Mariah was born on April 2, 1847 in Beaufort Co. and died in Pamlico Co. on Sept. 11, 1905. Joseph died in Pamlico Co. on April 15, 1902. Joseph & Mariah are buried in the Cahoon Cemetery along with their son, Benjamin. They had the following known children:
1. Mary Isabella Alcock - b. Nov. 23, 1870 d. Nov. 12, 1932 Pamlico Co. Married: John Daniel Sadler on Oct. 17, 1886 in Pamlico Co. Mary & John are buried in the Barnett Cemetery at Hobucken, Pamlico Co., NC.

2. Cora Lee Alcock - b. Sept. 29, 1873 Pamlico Co. d. Dec. 26, 1951 Henderson, Vance Co., NC Married 1^st: Dr. John Thomas Clark (1863-1906) in Pamlico Co. on May 26, 1894. Married 2^nd: John Whitford Leary (1887-1939) in Pamlico Co. on Mar. 1, 1907. John was 13 years younger than Cora. Married: 3^rd: ??? Edwards after 1940. Buried with her daughter in Westview Cemetery in Lenoir Co., NC.

3. Henry Arthur Alcock - b. Nov. 22, 1875 Pamlico Co. d. May 30, 1956 Williamsburg, Va. Married 1^st: Frances Elizabeth "Fannie" Corprew (1879-1914) in Beaufort Co. on Sept. 18, 1896 Married 2^nd: Susie Elvira Barricks (1885-1953). Henry & Susie are buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond, Va.

4. Caroline Virginia Alcock - b. March 6, 1878 Pamlico Co. d. Apr. 25, 1959 Miami, Dade Co., Fl. Married: Lewis Washington Emery at Hobucken, Pamlico Co. on Dec. 29, 1897

5. Joseph William "Willie" Alcock - b. Feb. 13, 1880 Hobucken, Pamlico Co. d. Dec. 27, 1946 Kinston, Lenoir Co., NC Married: Sudie Mae "Luda" Hodges (1884-1939) in Pamlico Co. on Jan. 11, 1903. Willie & Sudie are buried in Sandhill Cemetery in Pamlico Co. [see family photos below]

6. Laura Jane Alcock - b. May 29, 1884 Pamlico Co. d. Jan. 16, 1968 Lowland, Pamlico Co. Married: William Howard "Billy" Lupton, Jr. (1878-1962) in Mesic, Pamlico Co. on June 9, 1900. Billy & Laura Jane are buried in the Mercer Cemetery at the Warden Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
