According to his death certificate, James Branch Weston was born in NC on June 1, 1887 and died in Rich Square, Northampton Co., NC on August 14, 1968. He is buried in the family cemetery in Rich Square.  When he signed his 1917 Draft Card he gave his birth date as June 1, 1888, a difference of one year.  He was tall with a stout build, grey eyes and dark hair.  His parents are listed as unknown on the death certificate, however, we do know that his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Weston (1858-1932) from subsequent census records in 1910 & 1930 Northampton Co. where she was living with James & Hattie.  James married Hattie Elizabeth Spain in 1910.  Hattie was born in Pamlico Co. on Nov. 20, 1882 and died in Rich Square, Northampton Co., NC on Feb. 22, 1946.  Her death certificate lists her parents as George Spain & Martha Carion but her mother's name is in error.
