{"id":3064,"date":"2013-05-05T11:57:55","date_gmt":"2013-05-05T15:57:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ncgenweb.us\/pasquotank\/?p=3064"},"modified":"2022-02-15T16:47:36","modified_gmt":"2022-02-15T21:47:36","slug":"thomas-pritchard-1804-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncgenweb.us\/pasquotank\/thomas-pritchard-1804-will\/","title":{"rendered":"THOMAS PRITCHARD (1804 Will)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">The Last Will and Testament of<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium\">THOMAS PRITCHARD <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">May 17, 1804-September 1804<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">State of North Carolina<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Pasquotank County<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">In the name of God Amen I <strong>THOMAS PRITCHARD<\/strong> of the County aforesaid being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory blessed be God do this Seventeenth day of May One Thousand Eight Hundred and Four make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in the manner following that is to say<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son <strong>LEMUEL PRITCHARD<\/strong> one half of the lands that I bought of Jesse Jackson and Tamer Sexton to him and his heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son <strong>ARTHUR PRITCHARD<\/strong> the other half of the lands that I bought of Jesse Jackson and Tamer Sexton to be eaqually divided between <strong>LEMUEL <\/strong>&amp;<strong> ARTHUR PRITCHARD<\/strong> to him and his heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son <strong>ISAAC PRITCHARD<\/strong> one half of the land and plantation whereon I now live that half that is next to Malachi Pritchard lands so as to take in my dwelling house to him and his heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Item: I give and bequeath to my Son <strong>THOMAS PRITCHARD<\/strong> the remaining part of my lands that I have not givin away before to him L&amp; his heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Item: I leave the use of all that part of my plantation from Malachi Pritchards line to the mill swamp where on my building is on binding on a ditch that is back of my orchard between that and the ridge to my loving Wife <strong>LYDDA PRITCHARD<\/strong> during her widowhood or life like wise one feather bead and furniture one juniper table one cedar chest, one young mare named Pleasher, one cow her own horse, one ew and lamb one sow six shotes Ten barreles of Indian corn one plough and harness one loom one ax one iron pot One iron tea kittle Three flag bottom cheers one linen wheel one wollen wheel one pewter dish one pewter bason three pewter plates six earthen plates one washing tub one pail one bread tray one hackle during her widowhood or life And after her death or marrage to be eaqually divided eaqually among my Five Daughters viz: <strong>DORCAS SMITHSON, ELIZABETH CARTWRIGHT, MARY PRITCHARD, DOLLY PRITCHARD <\/strong>&amp;<strong> SUSANAH PRITCHARD<\/strong> to them and their heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Item: I give and bequeath to my Son <strong>THOMAS PRITCHARD<\/strong> my hand gun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Item: I give and bequeath to my <strong>SAMUEL PRITCHARD<\/strong> six silver dollars to him and his heirs forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Lastly I leave all the remaining part of my estate that I have not given away before in legacies before to after paying my just debts, to be eaqully divided between my Five Daughters <strong>DORCAS SMITHSON ELIZABETH CARTWRIGHT MARY PRITCHARD DOLLEY PRITCHARD <\/strong>&amp;<strong> SUSANAH PRITCHARD<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Item: my will and desire is that if either of my Sons <strong>LEMUEL<\/strong> or <strong>ARTHER PRITCHARD should<\/strong> die with out heir that the surviver should have all the lands that is willed them both<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Item: my will and desire is that if either of my Sons <strong>THOMAS<\/strong> or <strong>ISAAC PRITCHARD <\/strong>should die with out heir then the surviver should have all the lands that is willed to them both and I hereby make and ordain my Son <strong>SAMUEL PRITCHARD<\/strong> &amp; <strong>HEZEKIAH CARTWRIGHT<\/strong> Executors of this my Last Will and Testament<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">In Witness where of I havere unto set my hand &amp; seal the date first above written<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Published and pronounced to be his Last Will &amp;
