THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT<\/span><\/p>\n

THOMAS FURBISH<\/span><\/strong>
\nApril 26, 1732<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Name of God Amen the twenty Six Day of April one thousand seven hundred <\/span>
\nthirty two I THOMAS FURBISH<\/strong> of the precinct of Pasquotank in the province of <\/span>N. Carolina being sick in body but of perfect memory praised be Almighty God <\/span>for the same & knowing it is appointed for all men once to Die Do make ordain <\/span>constitute arthorise and confirm this my proper Last Will and Testament <\/span>Disanuling & disalowing renounceing & revokeing all and every other will or <\/span>wills testaments gift or gifts legacied or legacies or anything of that nature <\/span>by me formerly made given or bequeathed ratyfying & confirming this and no <\/span>other to be my proper Last Will and Testament in manner & form following.<\/span><\/p>\n

First I restore my Soul into the hands of God my Saviour and my body to be <\/span>buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executor hereafter <\/span>named.<\/span><\/p>\n

Item. I give to my two Sons WILLIAM FURBISH<\/strong> & THOMAS FURBISH<\/strong> all my lands <\/span>my Son WILLIAM<\/strong> to have my plantation in his part to be equally divided between <\/span>them to them and their heirs for ever. The land to THOMAS BURGES<\/strong> excepted for <\/span>his life & his Wives widowhood.<\/span><\/p>\n

Item. I give to my Son ISAAC FURBISH<\/strong> three cows & calves & my bed whereon I <\/span>lye after my Wives decease<\/span><\/p>\n

Item. I give to my Son WILLIAM FURBISH<\/strong> one cow & calf & my couch<\/span><\/p>\n

Item. I give to my Son THOS. FURBISH<\/strong> one cow & calf & my mill<\/span><\/p>\n

Item. I give & bequeath to my Dearly beloved Wife ABIGAIL FURBISH<\/strong> all the <\/span>rest of my estate freely by her to be possessed & enjoyed after my debts is <\/span>paid and discharged.<\/span><\/p>\n

Item. I leave to THOMAS BURGES<\/strong> the land whereon he lives for his life time <\/span>and to his Wife MARY BURGES<\/strong> for her widowhood after his decease from the <\/span>walnut tree North course to the swamp & from the walnut tree a South Course to <\/span>the lane. I likewise make ordain & confirm him the said THOMAS BURGES<\/strong> my whole <\/span>and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have <\/span>set my <\/span>hand & fixed my seal the day and year above written.<\/span>
