Gray, The Founding of Marblehead, (Baltimore MD, Gateway<\/p>\n<p>Press, 1984) p. 96.<\/p>\n<p>CHRISTOPHER NICHOLSON, the son of Edmond and Elizabeth (Simson)<\/p>\n<p>Nicholson, was born about 1638, and came to New England between<\/p>\n<p>1640-44, from Cumberland, with his father. He was at Marblehead by<\/p>\n<p>1644, left 5 pounds in the 1646 will of George Pollard, and was living<\/p>\n<p>at Marblehead in 1661. Born in 1638 in Bootle, Cumberland, England.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher died in Berkeley Pct. Perquimans Co., NC on 10 Sep 1688,<\/p>\n<p>he was 50. On 22 Oct 1662 when Christopher was 24, he first married<\/p>\n<p>Hannah REDNAP, daughter of Joseph REDNAP, II &amp; Mrs. Joseph REDNAP, in<\/p>\n<p>Lynn, Essex, Mass. Born in 1642 in Lynn, Essex, Mass. Hannah died in<\/p>\n<p>Berkeley Pct. Perquimans Co., NC on 2 Dec 1678, she was 36. It is<\/p>\n<p>unknown when they went to North Carolina but they were at Perquimans<\/p>\n<p>Monthly Meeting, Society of Friends, prior to 1678 when Hannah died on<\/p>\n<p>2 December of that year; they had seven children together.<\/p>\n<p>===<\/p>\n<p>Christopher married second to Ann Atwood at the house of Francis Toms<\/p>\n<p>in 1688; eight years before his death. Theirs was the first marriage<\/p>\n<p>entry in the minutes of the Perquimans Monthly Meeting, Society of<\/p>\n<p>Friends. This couple had six children. The name of Atwood, is listed<\/p>\n<p>among the twenty-three persons from whom 2150 acres of land were<\/p>\n<p>conveyed to Robert Johnson for bringing them over from England. The<\/p>\n<p>deed is dated &#8220;23rd of April 1681, &#8221; and the land was situated in the<\/p>\n<p>Isle of Wight County, Virginia. Ann (Atwood) Nicholson was the widow of<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Nicholson. A meeting was held in their house as early as<\/p>\n<p>1681<\/p>\n<p>(Perquimans MM was here on 6\/13\/1681) and continued until after<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Nicholson&#8217;s death in 1688. The last mention of a meeting<\/p>\n<p>at theirhouse was in Tenth Month of 1689.
