Will Written 27 May 1779\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

North Carolina<\/span><\/p>\n

Perquimans County \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Know all men by these presents that I Peter Pearson <\/strong>of the aforesd County and Province being sick and weak in body and knowing the uncertainty of this life do for settling of my temporal concerns make this my last will and Testament in manner as followeth, that is to say—<\/span><\/p>\n

1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I give unto my wife Marry Pearson<\/strong> the best bed and furniture in my house two cows & calfs a side saddle two\u00a0 iron pots three pewter dishes & one bason half dozen plates & one third part of the Delft ware to her & her heirs forever<\/span><\/p>\n

2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I give unto my two sons Nathan<\/strong> & William Pearson<\/strong> my Negro boy Isaac to be equally divided between them I also give my son Nathan<\/strong> one feather bed & furniture to him & his heirs forever<\/span><\/p>\n

3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I give unto my son William Pearson<\/strong> one feather bed without furniture\u00a0 my yearling colt & one cow & calf to him & his heirs forever —<\/span><\/p>\n

4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I give unto my son Peter Pearson<\/strong> one feather bed & furniture & my mains after paying my son Jonathan<\/strong> the value of eight pounds gold & silver to him & his heirs forever<\/span><\/p>\n

5\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I give unto my Daughter Mary Moore<\/strong> one feather bed & furniture to her and her heirs forever\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I give unto my son Jonathan Pearson<\/strong> one feather bed & furniture & the value of eight pounds gold and silver which he is to receive from my son Peter Pearson<\/strong> to him & his heirs forever-<\/span><\/p>\n

7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I give unto my Daughter Ruth Boyce<\/strong> one feather bed & furniture to her & her heirs forever\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

8 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I give unto my son Christopher Pearson<\/strong> twenty five pounds \u00a0I mean the value of that sum in gold and silver to him & his heirs forever\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

9\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I give unto my Daughter Rachel Newby<\/strong> four pounds seventeen shillings which is all ready hard\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

10 \u00a0 \u00a0I give unto my three grand children Nathan Peter<\/strong> & Josiah Lacy<\/strong> one cow & calf a piece to each of them\u00a0 to them and theirs forever\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

11 \u00a0 \u00a0 I give all the remainder part of my estate not before mentioned & desire it may be equally divided amongst my six children Peter\u00a0 Nathan\u00a0 William\u00a0 Mary\u00a0 Ruth <\/strong>& Jonathan<\/strong> to them and their heirs forever\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

Lastly I nominate constitute & appoint my son Nathan Pearson<\/strong> & my friend Matthew White<\/strong> Executors to this my last will and testament hereby revocking all other wills heretofore by me made and publishing this to be my last<\/span><\/p>\n

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and have this 27th day of may In the year of out Lord one\u00a0 thousand seven hundred seventy nine.<\/span><\/p>\n
