Will of <\/span><\/p>\n

PETER DRAPER<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1764<\/span><\/p>\n

I, Peter Draper<\/strong>, of Perquimans County in North Carolina being in perfect sense and sound memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as followeth Viz: <\/span><\/p>\n

First–I recommend my soul to God that gave it me and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my Exor hereafter named. <\/span><\/p>\n

2nd–My will is that my just debts be fully paid and discharged. <\/span><\/p>\n

3rd–I give to my son Joseph Draper<\/strong> all my land between Thomas Hollowell’s land and the Dunking Pond and from the plum tree branch to the middle of Pine Island to him and his heirs forever. <\/span><\/p>\n

4th–I give all the rest of my land that is the remainder part of that tract of land both North and South side of the swamp which Thomas Hollowell and I took up to my son Silas Draper<\/strong>, him and his heirs forever. <\/span><\/p>\n

5th–I give to my son Joseph Draper<\/strong> one brown cow with a white back to receive her when he sees fit to him and his heirs forever and also one sow and two pigs commonly called his and also my long gun to the said Joseph Draper<\/strong> to him and his heirs forever. <\/span><\/p>\n

6th–I give to my son Silas Draper<\/strong> my short gun to him and his heirs forever. <\/span><\/p>\n

7th–I give to my son Thos Draper<\/strong> one iron pestle with two iron wedges and one cropcut saw to him and his heirs forever. <\/span><\/p>\n

8th–I give to my daughter Milicent Draper<\/strong> one featherbed with a trummel bedstead and what furniture belonging thereof–when of age or at the time of marriage to her and her heirs forever. <\/span><\/p>\n

9th–I give to my well beloved wife Hannah Draper<\/strong> all the remainder part of my etate wheresoever to be found to her and her heirs forever. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lastly–I do make, ordain and constitute my loving wife Hannah Draper<\/strong> Executrix and my son Joseph Draper<\/strong> Exor to this my last will and testament making void all other wills and testaments by me made heretofore whereunto I have set my hand and seal this 16th day of April 1764.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perquimans County–July Inferior court 1764. Presents his majesty’s justice and this certifies that the within will of Peter Draper<\/strong> dec’s was proved in court by the affirmation of Thos Hollowell<\/strong> and Corenelius Moor<\/strong> and at the same time appeared Hannah Draper<\/strong> and Joseph Draper<\/strong> and were qualified as Exec and Exor according to law. <\/span><\/p>\n
