\nPerquimans County,<\/span><\/p>\n

I, Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>, of Perquimans County, North carolina, being of\u00a0<\/span>sound mind and memory, but knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty\u00a0<\/span>of death, do make, publish and declare this paper writing, to be my last\u00a0<\/span>will and testament. hereby revoking and making void all and any will\u00a0<\/span>heretofore at any time made by me in manner and form as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

Item first: I give, devise and bequeth to my beloved son, William\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Kenneth Jordan<\/strong>, all my property, both real, personal and mixed, wherever<\/span>found to him and his heirs forever, provided, however, that should the said\u00a0<\/span>Wm. Kenneth Jordan<\/strong> die before he arrives at the age of twenty-one years,\u00a0<\/span>unmarried, and leaving no child or children, then and in that event, I give\u00a0<\/span>all the said property to my brother, Wm. E. Dail<\/strong>, my two sisters Pearl\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Hunter<\/strong> and Lizzie Nixon<\/strong>, to them and their heirs forever, share and share\u00a0<\/span>alike.<\/span><\/p>\n

In testimony whereof, the said Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong> has hereunto set her\u00a0<\/span>hand and seal this the 2nd. day of November, 1917.<\/span><\/p>\n

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>, to\u00a0<\/span>be her last will and testament, in our presence who, at her request, in her\u00a0<\/span>presence and in presence of each other, subscribe our names hereto as\u00a0<\/span>witnesses.<\/span><\/p>\n

R.M. Riddick, Jr<\/strong>. and Wm. H. Hardcastle<\/strong>, each being duly sworn, deposes\u00a0<\/span>and says that he is well acquainted with the handwriting of L. W. Norman<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>one of the subscribering witnesses to the paper writing puporting to be the\u00a0<\/span>will of Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>, deceased, which is hereto attached, dated the\u00a0<\/span>end. day of November, 1917, having often seen him write, and that the name\u00a0<\/span>of the said L. W. Norman<\/strong> subscribed as a witness to said will is in the\u00a0<\/span>genuine handwriting of the said L.W. Norman<\/strong>; and each affiant further swears\u00a0<\/span>that he is well acquainted with the handwriting of Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>deceased, whose will the attached paper writing. dated the 2nd. day of\u00a0<\/span>November, 1917, purports to be, having often seen her write, and that the\u00a0<\/span>name of the Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong> subscribed to said will is in the genuine <\/span>handwriting of the said Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jordan<\/strong>, deceased. Let said will, together with the probate, be\u00a0<\/span>recorded and filed. This Nov. 21st. 1934<\/span><\/p>\n

\n The paper writing hereto attached and purporting to be the\u00a0<\/span>last will and testament of Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>, deceased, is exhibited before\u00a0<\/span>me the undersigned, Clerk of the Superior Court of Perquimans County, North\u00a0<\/span>Carolina, by Wm. Kenneth Jordan<\/strong>, the beneficiary therein named, and\u00a0<\/span>thereupon the following proof thereof is taken by the oath and examination\u00a0<\/span>of Chas. Whedbee<\/strong>, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and of R. M.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Riddick, Jr<\/strong>., and Wm. H. Hardcastle<\/strong>, as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

\nPerquimans County.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chas. Whedbee<\/strong>, being duly sworn, disposes and says that he\u00a0<\/span>is a subscribing witness to the said paper writing now shown him, purporting\u00a0<\/span>to be the last will and testament of Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>, and that he saw\u00a0<\/span>Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>, execute ( or heard Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>, acknowledge the\u00a0<\/span>execution of ) this writing as her last will and testament, and that affiant\u00a0<\/span>attested it in the presence and at the request of Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>deceased;and that at the time of its execution said Sallie D. Jordan<\/strong> was in<\/span>
\naffiant’s opinion of sound mind and disposing memory. Affiant further swears\u00a0<\/span>that L. W. Norman<\/strong>, the other subscribing witness to said will, signed the\u00a0<\/span>same as witness in the presence of affiant, and that affiant saw him sign\u00a0<\/span>the same, and that said L. W. Norman<\/strong> is now dead.<\/span><\/p>\n
