I JOSEPH ALLEN of Person County and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament in words follows that is first
I wish all my just debts to be payd
2ndly. I give to my Mother SARAH ALLIN my Negro woman JUDY during her life the rest of my Estate together with the Negro woman after the death of my Mother I wish to be equally divided amongst all my brothers and sisters except that the legacy coming to my two sisters NANCY and HANNER CARSON be reserved for their children
3dly. I appoint my two brothers THOMAS ALLIN & WILLIAM ALLIN Extrs to this my last will and testament signed this 3rd day of January 1821.

I RICHARD ATKINSON of the County of Person and State of North Carolina being in a low state of helth and expecting shortly to depart this world but thanks be to God am at this time in perfect mind and memory being minded to devise the Estate which it has pleased providence to leave me possessed of do Will and devise the same as follows (to wit)
Item. I wish and will that all my Estate both real and personal be sold by my Executors on a credit of Twelve months and out of the proceeds of the same that they first pay all my just debts and the residue divide equally between the following persons --
(to wit) HENRY ATKINSON, CARTER ATKINSON, THOMAS ATKINSON & ATKINSON P. MANN[?] and I do further constitute and appoint THOMAS ATKINSON my brother and my friend JAS. LEA as Executors to this my last will and testament revoking all wills legacies or gifts heretofore by me made declaring this to be my only last will and testament.

In the name of God amen. I JAMES ARMSTRONG of the County of Person and State of North Carolina being of sound and disposing mind & memory do hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows (viz)
Item in the first place, I desire my Executors hereafter named may as speedily as possible after my decease call a sale and sell all my property only such as I shall here after otherwise dispose of and pay off all my just debts. Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife LUCY ARMSTRONG the use of all the tract of land where on I now dwell and the present crop, one Negro girl named PHILLIS, my two work horses, two plows, two beds and furniture, two cows, two open sows and hogs as many as will make pork for one year, one third part of my house hold and kitchen furniture this legacy to be held by my wife to raise and so that all my children and to hold the ballance of said legacy during her widowhood and no longer at the death or marriage of my said wife said legacy is to be reverted to my executors and by them to be equally divided amongst all my children and all which may here after in wedlock share and share alike my three children now born is named WARNER, FRANCIS, ELIZABETH. I desire my Executors to sell my old plantation and to recover my part of my fathers Estate at the death of my Mother and to sell all the rest of my Estate not disposed of and the amount thereof put to interest and equally divided among all my children and I do hereby nominate and appoint LEWIS DANIEL Esq'r, JAMES FARQUHAR, WILLIAM R. ROBINSON to be my Executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke and disanull and every will by me heretofore made and I desire this to be my last testament and will. I JOHN BLACK of the County of Person and State of North Carolina being in my perfect senses & of a disposing memory & calling to mind the mortality of my body & desirous to settle my temporal concerns in such mater as I think most just,do hereby make this my last will & testament revoking & setting aside all former Will or Wills heretofore made by me.
Item.  I give & bequeath my soul to Almighty God, & my body to a decent burial by my Executors hereafter named.
Item.  I lend unto my beloved wife MARY BLACK during her natural life or widowhood my young horse Fox, bridle & saddle, a feather bead & all the furniture. With one third part of my personal estate after my just debts being first paid & after her decease or otherwise to return into my respective Estate.
Item.  I give & bequeath unto my son SAMUEL BLACK & his heirs one hundred pounds current money of Virginia to be raised out of the sale of my lands hereafter directed.
Item.  I give in like manner unto my son ROB'T BLACK & his heirs one hundred pounds of like money to be raised out of the sale of lands aforesaid.
Item.  I give & bequeath unto my son JOHN BLACK one hundred pounds to him & his heirs in manner & form above directed.
Item.  all the remainder of my Estate be it of kind soever after my just debts being first paid as aforesaid I give & bequeath by an equal division unto my three sons before named to them & their heirs forever.
Item.  My Will & pleasure is to appoint my trusty & well beloved friends LARKINS JOHNSTON & EDMOND DIXON my whole & sole Executors & that they or either of them proceed to sell my lands. & are hereby authorized to make lawfull conveyances, in order to raise the money herein directed to my sons & all the over plush if any to be equally divided between them. I also desire that my said Executors se to my sons schooling &c In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this second day of October in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety five.

In the Name of God amen, I ADDISON COCHRAN being of sound mind and memory but in a low state of health and calling to mind the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following.
Item 1. To my nephew JAMES C. DOBBINS and to my neace ANNIS DOBBIN and to my nephew WILLIAM LEA and niece JANET LEA I give and bequeath my possessions at Person Court House consisting of a tavern house, stable and other out houses together with all the land lying around the Court house belong to me.
Item 2nd. To two nephews GEORGE G. LEA and JAMES M. LEA I give and bequeath a certain tract of land lying on the waters of South Hico and joining the land of MOSES BRACHER*, ABNER BRACHER* and others and supposed to contain in the whole two hundred and sixty acres.
Item the third. My mother ANNIE COCHRAN I give and bequeath nine shares of State bank stock also ten Negro of the following names HARRY, PHILLIP, ANDY, ROMALOUS, FLOYD, PHOEBE, WIATT, NANCY, CLARY and JERRY which said Negroes at the death of my Mother shall be divided equally between my nephews, JAMES C. DOBBINS, my nece ANNIE DOBBINS and the then living heirs of my sister SUSANNA LEA.
Item the 4th. To my sister SUSAN LEA I give and bequeath six hundred dollars
Item the 5th. To my brother GEORGE McNIELL I give and bequeath my riding horse and saddle
Item the 6th. To my brother WILLIAM L. McNIELL I give and bequeath two hundred dollars.
Item the 7th. To my brother HOREY McNIELL I give and bequeath a riding gig and harness.
Item the 8th. It is my wish and desire that my mother ANNIS COCHRAN and WILLIAM A. LEA be the sole Executors fo this my last will and testament it is also my desire that after the above named Items are rided[?] and after paying my just debts and the expenses of a decent burial of my body the remaining part be it much or little to belong to my mother ANNIS COCHRAN. In testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 28th day of October 1820.

I ANNISS COCHRAN of Person County and State of No. Carolina being in a low state of helth but of a sound mind and good recollection knowing the frailty of human nature that its appointed for man to die being also to dispose of what property it hath please God to bless me with in this world I resign my soul to God the Author of it and my body to decent burial.
First Item. I give to my son HOREY McNIELL a Negro boy BENJAMIN also one fann mill
2nd Item. I give my daughter FRANKY WILLIAMS a Negro woman RACHELL.

7th Item. I give my grandson DONNELL D. McNIEL (son of JOHN) a Negro man ANTONEY.
8th Item. I give my grandaughter ELIZABETH McNIELL daughter of JOHN a Negro girl SUCKEY.
9th Item. I give to my two grand children JAMES C. DOBBINS and ANNIS DOBBINS fifty $50 three full portion that I allot them of my Estate.
10th Item. My wish and desire is that the ballance of my Estate be equally divided between my children only I wish it to be understood that the Children of SALLY LEA before named are to represent their mother and receive of my Executors what wood [sic] be her ratable part or one seventh part of the residue of my Estate not devised a way.
I also nominate and appoint my son HOREY McNIELL my Executor to see this my last will and testament carid [carried] into effect in testamony whereof.
I have set my hand and seal this 31st day of March A. Domini 1821 in presents of us.

Thanks be to God for the same. yet knowing the uncertainty of this life. I do make this my last Will and Testament. in the manner as follows, Viz.
Revoking and making all Will or Wills by me formerly made. first I remember my Soul to the Almighty God in whom and by these Merrets of Jesus. I trust and believe to be saved, my body to be buried in such decent and Christian like manner as my Executors hereafter named shall think fit and as for my temporal estate, and whatsoever else God hath been pleased to bestow upon me
First I Give and bequeath to Nathaniel Gesarn [?] five Shillings current money. -- also I Give and and bequeath to Riley Vickers five Shillings Current money. Nextly I would that all my Just Debts should be paid out of my property and all the rest of my property. I Give to my beloved wife Molly Cuzzort

In the name of God Amen I JOHN DICKSON of the County of Person and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and disposing memmory calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that all men must die I do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament setting all other wills aside heretofore made by me.
1st. I lend to wife MARY DICKSON during her natural life or widowhood all the land that I now own and possess together with all my Estate both personal & real after paying all my just debts and the legacys which I hereafter mention.
2nd. I give to my daughter MARTHA A MOON a Negro girl by name RHODA.
3rd. I give to my son JOSIAS DICKSON one Negro boy LAZARUS, I give to my four grandchildren to be equally divided between them after my death that is MARY HARRIS, formerly EPPERSON, JOHN EPPERSON JNR, JOSEPH EPPERSON & JANE EPPERSON children of JOHN & ELIZABETH EPPERSON a Negro girl PATTY with all her increase. I give to my son THOMAS F. DICKSON one Negro boy JINKINS. I give to my daughter NANCY W. EPPERSON and the children of her body one Negro girl by name ELVIRA with all her increase. I give to my son SAMUEL one Negro boy by name ALEXANDER. I give to my son ABNER DICKSON one Negro boy by name ANDERSON. The above named property all given heretofore I give to my son ABNER DICKSON and the children of SAMUEL A. DICKSON the land loned to my wife half to my son ABNER and the other half to the children of SAMUEL. my SAMUEL A. DICKSON to live on the half given to his children during his life.
My will further is that all the property loaned my wife MARY DICKSON the land excepted shall be sold and divided between my following named children equally.
MARTHA A. MOON, my four grand children before mentioned to have one share. THOMAS F. DICKSON, NANCY W. EPPERSON, SAMUEL A. DICKSON & ABNER DICKSON I give to my son LAN[cut off] DICKSON one dollar. I do lend to my beloved wife CATHRINE DIXON during her remaining my widow all the land I own and possess, a yoake of stears and cart, seven Negroes such as she is a mind to take out of what I own and as much of my stock of all kinds and household goods and plantation tools I live the land and improvement whereon I now live lying on the East side of Sergents Creek joining the land of CHARLES SALLARD, ROBERT JONES and ARCHIBALD DUNAWAY containing two hundred and thirty acres moore or less I give the said land to my son LEVI DIXON after the death of his mother or if she marries I give to my daughter ELIZABETH CARNAL Two hundred dollars I do give to my daughter FRANCES TROTTER Two hundred dollars I give to my daughter MARTHA BOULTON Two hundred dollars I do give to my gran son EDMUND D. I give & devise to my wife NANCY my Hico tract of land which I purchased of THOMAS MOORE during her life or widow hood with the express permission that she is neither to sell, rent or lease sd land or suffer the same to be worked except by her own favor(?) nor is the same to be cut down, more than is necessary to keep the plantation in operation and at her death or marriage to be equally divided among all my children.

I also give & bequeath to my sd wife my Negro [page torn] her life or widowhood [torn] at her [torn] marriage to be equally divided among all my children.

I also give and bequeath unto my said wife one common work house, one milck cow, one sow & five sheep.

All the balance of my estate of what I may die seized and possessed I direct to be sold & after the payment of all my debts if any to be equally divided among all my children.

I hereby nominate & appoint my son RICHARD HALIBURTON & my friend WM. M. FAULKNER my Executors of this my last will & testament & I hereby revoke all the other will or wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I hereto set my hand & seal this 14th April 1845.

I JANE HAMLETT of the County of Person and State of North Carolina being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to allmighty God for his mercies be stowed upon me, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. First I recommend my spirit to Almighty God who gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors as to [blurred] my worldly concerns and the property where with it has been please God to bless me I dispose of in the following manner
First I give and bequeath to my beloved sister MARTHA POINTER, widow, one Negro man DICK and one Negro woman PATTY and one Negro woman ANNA to her and to her heirs forever. 2d. I give and bequeath to my niece MARTHA BARNETT one Negro girl ONEY and her increase to her and to her heirs forever. Three. I give and bequeath to my niece POLLY WADE one Negro girl named MARTHA and her increase to her and to her heirs forever.
Fourthly. I give and bequeath to my nephew JAMES WADE son of ROB'T WADE & ANN WADE, his wife, one Negro boy named RICHARD to him and his heirs forever.
Fifthly. I give and bequeath to my beloved sister POLLY JONES children, viz one Negro girl named JULY to be equally divided amongst all of her children.
Sixth. I give and bequeath to my nephew TINSLEY WADE, son of ROBERT & ANN WADE, one Negro boy named GEORGE to him and to his heirs forever.
Seventh. I give and bequeath to my niece MARY ALLEN POINTER one Negro girl VINA and her increase to her and to her heirs forever.
Eight. I give and bequeath to my niece EMILLY POINTER one Negro boy SYRUS to her and to her heirs forever
It is my will and desire that all my stock of all kind my household and kitchen furniture and all farming utensils and all the property of whatever description I have not otherwise disposed of to be sold on a credit of twelve month and out of the money arising from such sales to pay all my just debts and all the money after the payment of debts that is on hand to be equally divided amongst my sister POINTERS and my sister PATTERSON to them and their heirs forever.
I give and bequeath to my niece ELIZABETH POINTER one Negro girl MARY and her increase to her and her heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my beloved sister MARTHA POINTER one Negro girl JENNY also with the other named Negro here to fore above given and her increase to her and her heirs forever.
For the love and good will I have my nephew DOCTOR DAVID POINTER & nephew ROBERT JONES I appoint them my Executors to this my last will and testament in testimony whereof I set my hand and affix my seal this thirteenth day of May one thousand Eight hundred and thirty five

First I recomend my soul into the hands of that God who gave it and my body I recomend to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named. And as for such worldly goods as it has been pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give and dispose of in the following manner and form to wit,
Imprimese, after all my last debts are paid and satisfyd I give unto my beloved wife ANNE JOHNSTON all my whole Estate, during her natural life.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my two daughters MARTHA SCOGGIN & MARY LINK all the estate which I have willed unto my beloved wife above mentioned (after her death) to be equally divided between them except twenty Shillings which I shall make further provision for in the next clause of this my Last Will to them and their heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my youngest daughter ELIZABETH LEWIS Twenty shillings current money to her and her heirs forever.
Lastly. I nominate, constitute and appoint my beloved wife ANN JOHNSTON Executrix and my trusty friend HERNDON HARRILSON Executor to this my last Will & Testament hereby revoking and disallowing all other or former Will or Wills heretofore by me made satisfying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will & testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixt my seal this 26th day of November Anno Dom 1792.

In the name of God amen. I EDMOND LEWIS of Person County & State of North Carolina being week in body but of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this as my last will and testament which is as followeth
Item to wit - I lend to my wife MARY LEWIS the plantation and land whereon I now dwell during her natural life or widowhood also all my stock and household furniture & all other property I now possess after paying all just debts. But after her death or marriage then my will and desire is that my Estate shall be equally devided amongst my seven children HIRAM LEWIS, WANE LEWIS, WARNER LEWIS, ELIZABETH TOMKINS LEWIS, FRANCIS LEWIS, FIELDEN LEWIS, BURREL GREEN LEWIS. Also I do constitute and appoint REUBIN NUTON & JAMES LONG Executors to this my last will and testament given under my hand this the twenty fourth day of June one thousand seven hundred & ninety two.

In the name of God amen, I JOHN RAVINS of the County of Person and State of North Carolina being in a low state of health but of sound mind and restitution knowing the frailty of human life that it is once appointed for men to die make and ordain this my last Will and testament
1st. My will and desire is I give and desire my soul to the Almighty God the author thereof and recommend my body to dirt from whence it came and to a decent burial I give and bequeath to my beloved wife FRANKY a Negro woman JOAN and all her increase JAMES, WILLY, HANNAH(?), GREEN, SMITH and MARY and all the Children they may hereafter have. Also two beds and furniture to dispose in such way as they may think proper forever. I further give to my beloved wife a life time right in two Negroes STEPHEN & JOHN also a life right to all my land and plantation all my stock of every kind, household and kitchen furniture to every species of property that I may possess after the debts are paid. I further will that my wife may pay or select such property she may think fit to pay the debts out of or she may pay them in such way that may seem best for her to do and of the property she has a life right in after the death of my wife FRANKEY my will and desire is that my Executor sell all my land and every kind of property to the highest bidder and devide the proceeds equally between the children of my two sisters NANCY KINDRECK, MARY WHILLOW and JAMES RAVINS. I nominate and appoint my friend DUNCAN ROSE my Executor to this my last will and testament caried into effect given under my hand and seal this 1st day of April 1816.
