Rockingham post-dispatch. [volume] (Rockingham, N.C.), 12 Dec. 1918

John Watts. Death is at all times sad, but especially when one is cut down in the strength of young manhood. The Reaper appeared
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Cameron in Rockinham, on Friday morning, Dec. 6th, and claimed the life of John Watts. Mr. Watts came
to this home Thanksgiving Day, and becoming ill his condition steadily grew serious, until pneumonia developed on the following Tuesday,
and the end came three days later. The remains were carried to Laurins, S.C., Friday night, and interred there Saturday afternoon. In
the funeral party going from here were his sife, Judge R.C. Watts, Miss Courtney Watts, Mrs. T.L. McRae and Mr. J.D. Cameron. Mr. Watts
was 26 years old and a son of Judge R.C. Watts of Cheraw. He was married last April 30th to Miss Lucy Fowlkes, of this city. This young
couple was preparing to go to housekeeping near Cheraw within a few days, and the broken home and untimely death is a source of grief
to their many friends.
