Doris Lamont Humphrey, 78, of Hamlet, died Wednesday, August 30 2006, at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial 
Hospital.    
    She was born April 21, 1928 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Duncan and Sarah Jones Lamont. 
She was a member of the East Rockingham United Methodist Church.
    Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Richmond County Memorial Park with the Rev. Vann Floyd 
officiating.
    Surviving is her husband, Herman Humphrey of the home; daughter, Emilie Kirchhoffer of Staten Island, 
N.Y.; two sons, Lee Humphrey and Jeff Humphrey, both of Rockingham; one brother, Jimmy Lamont of Tampa, FL; 
one sister, Pauline Dutton of Rockingham; and two grandchildren.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham and at 
other times at the home on 144 North Street in Hamlet.
