George W Gibson was the son of Stephen Covington Gibson and Orilla 
Tunstall Gibson. This George is their grandson.

Mr. George Gerald Gibson, 67, of 132 Memory Lane, Rockingham, died 
Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at his home.

He was born Aug. 24, 1940, in Richmond County a son of the late George 
Washington and Mary Lena Alma Taylor Gibson. Mr. Gibson was the owner 
and operator of Gibson's Body Shop in Richmond County for many years, he 
was also a member of New Life Ministries.

Memorial services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Dec. 21, at New Life 
Ministries with the Rev. Gary Richardson officiating.

He is survived by his fiance, Martha Pittman of Rockingham; three sons, 
Todd Gibson of Rockingham, Tracy Gibson of Charlotte, Gerald Wayne 
Gibson of Rockingham; one brother, James L. Reese II of Hamlet; two 
sisters, Barbara G. Watts of Whiteville and Lillian R. Branch of 
Calhoun, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Harrington Funeral Home of Hamlet is serving the family.
