Georgia family of my ancestor Benjamin Redman. Benjamin's wife was Mary Stanback's sister Elizabeth

April Term 1836
The Last Will and Testament of Mary Stanback
State of North Carolina Richmond County
In the name of God Amen. I Mary Stanback of said County and State being of sound mind and
recollection but feeble in body do make this my last will and testament expressive of
what I wish to be done with the property I now have after my death viz. making null and
void all other wills and such papers as have been made by me on this subject previous to
this date.
2ndly I hereby give and bequeath to William Redman son of Benjamin Redman of Georgia one
negro man named Tom now in my possession to my said nephew + his heirs and assigns forever.
3rdly I hereby give and bequeath to my friend Mary Megginson a negro woman named Mary
and her youngest child Christopher now somewhat upwards of one year old to her the said
Mary Megginson her heirs or assigns forever.
4thly I give and bequeath to my nephew Joseph Thomas one negro woman named Nancy and her
son Will(?) to the said Joseph his heirs and assigns forever.
5thly I hereby give and bequeath to my sister Ann Thomas and her heirs Preston, Claibourne &
Elizabeth all the balance of my negroes Sue? Dizz(Dizy?) Nelson David Moses and Fanny Charles
Betsy Jude an Patsy to be equally divided among them. I also bequeath to my sister Ann Thomas
all the remaining part of my parishable property that is left after my death and all my just
debts paid viz. my furniture live stock wagon horses and farming utensils and also the produce
of my lands &C.
6thly It is my will and request that the said Ann Thomas and her heirs Preston Claibourne and
Elizabeth shall in consideration of said property willed to them pay to my brothers and sisters
or their heirs the sum of one thousand dollars in the manner following viz.
To Sarah Cathel(?) or her heirs two hundred and fifty dollars within one year after my death.
Also to Jas. Morehead or his heirs two hundred and fifty dollars in one year after that to
Joseph Morehead or his heirs two hundred and fifty dollars the next year afterwards & to Karenhappi
Turner two hundred and fifty dollars in the fourth year making one years time between each payment.
Lastly I do appoint my friends and neighbors Thos. Little and Presly N. Stanback executors of
this my last will and testament & to see that it be conducted agreeable to law and the intention
hereof.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 31st day of March 1836.
