2.  JOHN2 COLE (STEPHEN1) was born 1728 in Bedford County, Virginia, and died 1802 in Richmond County, NC.  
He married JANE BOUNDS July 22, 1753 in Bedford County, Virginia, daughter of JAMES BOUNDS and ANN DICKS.  
She was born October 10, 1738 in Bedford County, Virginia, and died 1808 in Richmond County, NC.

3.  JAMES3 COLE (JOHN2, STEPHEN1) was born 1755 in Bedford County, VA, and died Aft. 1833 in Carroll Co., TN.  
He married HANNAH SWEENY, daughter of DARBY SWEENY.  She was born Abt. 1759 in Bedford County, VA.

Notes for JAMES COLE:
	In the name of God Amen, I James Cole of the County of Carroll, State of Tennessee being sick in body but 
of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make & publish this my last 
will & testament in manner & form following. This is to say:
	First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Hannah Cole during her natural life one third part of 
all the property real & personal I may die seized and possessed of, that is to say of land, negroes, horses, 
cattle, viz, which at her death I wish divided between my sons Richmond S. Cole & James M. Cole, share and 
shar alike and in the event of the death of either of my sons aforesaid happening before that of my wife's, 
Hannah Cole the whole to belong to the survivor. 
	My household and kitchen furniture I give and bequeath unto my said beloved wife Hannah Cole to dispose 
of at her own discretion.
	Secondly, I give & bequeath unto my said sons Richmond S. Cole and James M. Cole the remaining two thirds 
of all my property real & personal I may be in possession of at the time of my death as also debts due me 
notes and monies which may be on hand at said time, share & share alike & in case either die before receiving 
his share the same to belong to the survivor.
	All my just debts I wish paid out of my property before a division of it between my wife Hannah and my 
sons Richmond S. Cole & James M. Cole.
	Thirdly, I give & bequeath unto my son John Washington Cole a certain negro boy named Harry aged about 
twelve years which said boy is now in the possession of my said son John Washington Cole.
	Fourthly, I give and bequeath unto my four sons-in-law namely William Crawford who intermarried with 
my daughter Elizabeth, John L. Campbell who intermarried with my daughter Jane, James Covington who 
intermarried with my daughter Ann & Thomas A. Crawford who intermarried with my daughter Julia the sum 
of fifty cents each, having herebefore given each his share of my property with which I trust they will 
respectively be satisfied.
	And lastly, As to all the rest, residue & remainder of my personal estate goods & chattel of what kind 
& nature whatsoever I give and bequeath the same to my said sons Richmond S. Cole and James M. Cole whom 
I hereby appoint executors with my wife Hannah Cole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby 
revoking all former wills by me made.
	The negroes now in my possession conveyed in the foregoing items to my beloved wife Hannah & sons 
Richmond S. Cole & James M. Cole, (ten in number are named as follows to wit, Will, Joe, York, Terry, 
Washington, Dinah, Ann, James, Mary & Betsy.)
	In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of November in the year of my 
lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two (AD 1832)  James Cole.

5.  JANE B.4 COLE (JAMES3, JOHN2, STEPHEN1) was born June 15, 1799 in NC, and died April 14, 1880 in 
Calhoun, Mississippi.  She married JOHN L. CAMPBELL Abt. 1824 in probably NC.  He was born February 01, 
1793 in NC, and died January 14, 1872 in Calhoun, Miss.

Notes for JOHN L. CAMPBELL:

On 6th Feb. 1830 John L. Campbell of Richmond County, NC deeded to Thomas Love, also of Richmond County, 
for the sum of $40 a tract of one hundred acres of land in Richmond County on both sides of the Black 
Branch of Solomon's Creek near fifty acres granted to Alamander Hunt on the side of a gravely hill North 
of John Underwood's house. This land had been granted to William Slaughter. This deed was witnessed by 
Peter H. Cole, son of John Cole. Proved April Term 1830 by John McAllister and ordered to be registered. 
M. D. Crawford, CCC.

John L. Campbell was appointed Judge of County Election 9th District, Carroll County, TN, March 1839
