1785 DBC-393 THOMAS and ELIZABETH MEGGINSON of Montgomery County NC to JAMES SMITH (CRIPPLE) of Richmond
County NC, for five hundred pounds specie, four tracts of land; one containing 100 acres beginning at a
white oak on south side of LITTLE BUFFALO CREED west to a black jack then to a black oak. Second tract
containing 100 acres, begins at a white oak to Little Buffalo to ROBINSON's corner, third tract 75 acres
originally purchased by JOHN WALTERS of DENNIS NOWLING also 300 acres north with NOWLINGS line on NORTH SIDE
of PEE DEE River northeast of Little River containing 555 acres. [total 1130 acres]. 27 March 1785.

WALTER LEAK's line and after the death of JAMES SMITH, SR. and his wife SARAH SMITH, SR., that MARY WARD
enjoy all the land
during her present situation but should she return to her husband or marry after the death
of her husband that the before mentioned land revert to JAMES SMITH, JR. 23 November 1790.
