Died at his residence in Richmond county, N.C., about one o'clock on the morning of the 10th instant,
Mr. Thomas Little, in the 74th year of his age. Mr. Little was born in Cumberland county, near Carlisle, in the
north of England, on the 1st day of September 1781, and emigrated to this country about the year 1806. He spent
the early part of his life after reaching this country, in South Carolina, but about the year 1820, he settled
on the Pee Dee river, in the upper part of Richmond county, where he continued to reside until the time of his
death. ... He made no public profession of religion, but was known by those who visited him during his last illness,
to be much concerned upon the subject, and left such evidences of a change of heart as to inspire his affectionate
wife, an only daughter, and two dutiful sons, and other relations and friends, with a comfortable hope that their
irreparable loss is his eternal gain.
