Last Will and Testament of William Wallis - 1795

December 21, 1852

Richmond County
Know all here that I, William Wallis of the above named state and county do I ordain and constitute
this to be my last will and testament. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Wallis all of
my household and kitchen furniture except our bed and furniture which I give and bequeath to my
daughter Mary Eliza. Three hundred bushels of corn, five thousand pounds of Fodder Cotton Seed,
Cotton Gin, boy horse named Badger. My riding carriage and _____ wagon, two choice cows and calves,
my entire stock of hogs for her use and after her death to my daughter Esther.
And I further bequeath to my daughter Mary Eliza five head cattle, four head sheep and the grey mare.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Esther our Sorrell horse named Charley. Two head of cattle and the
remainder of my stock of sheep.
I give and bequeath to my son Barnabas Wallis fifty dollars.
I give and bequeath to my son Goodwin Wallis thirty-seven dollars and due bill of thirteen dollars,
which I hold against him.
I give and bequeath to the children of my son Stephen Wallis fifty dollars.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Cumby fifty dollars.
I further ordain that all my effects that are not disposed of in the foregoing will, be sold and
applied to the payment of my debts and if there should be a surplus. To be equally divided among
between my three daughters to wit Sarah Catherine McArthur, Mary Eliza Wallis, Esther Wallis. I
furthermore ordain and constitute and appoint my worthy friends E.C. Pipkins and Issac Pipkins as
executors of this my last will and testament. I furthermore acknowledge this to be my last will
and testament revoking all other former wills made by me. Signed, Sealed and Acknowledged in the
presence of these witnesses. This December the twenty first AD One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Two.
