This Indenture made the fifteenth day of August in the year of one thousand seven hundred and ninety five by me Arther Johnston of the County of Rutherford and State of North Carolina of the one part and Elizabeth Huddleston of the other part, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and forty pounds current money to the said Frederick Linch in hand paid by the said Elizabeth Huddleston at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold alienated and confirmed unto the said Elizabeth Huddleston her heirs and assigns forever one tract of land entered by Patent One hundred and seventy five acres of land more or less it lying in the County of Rutherford and state of North Carolina on Second Broad River and bounded as follows; beginning at a red oak in John Johnstons line running thence north thirty west two hundred poles to a white oak in George Blacks line, thence with his line South Sixty west two hundred and forty poles to a post oak, thence running in a direct course to the head of Browns Branch, thence with the said branch to a poplar, from thence a direct course to a red oak on the river at Williams old ford, thence with the mainders of the river from thence a straight course to the beginning, corner with all and singular the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents and services of the said premises and of every part thereof and all the estate right title interest claim and ??? and whatsoever of him the said Aurther Johnston in or unto the said tract of land and premises with all and singular the said premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with their appurtainances assigns forever and the said Aurther Johnston and his heirs do warrant the said land and premises forever with every part and parcel thereof against him and his heirs and against all and every person or persons whatsoever, will warrant and forever defend the said tract of land and premises to the said Elizabeth Huddleston her heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said Arther Johnston hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal first above written.
