October the 5th 1796
This indenture made this, twenty fourth day of June
in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and ninety six between David Huddleston Senr of the
County of Rutherford and State of North Carolina of
the one part, and William Huddleston Junr of the
same county and state of the other part witnesseth
that the said David Huddleston for and in
consideration of the sum of five pounds good and
lawful money of the state aforesaid to him in hand
paid by the said William Huddleston Senr the receipt
and payment whereof is hereby acknowleged hath
granted bargained sold alienated enfoefed convey and
confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain
sell alien enfeof convey and confirm unto the said
William Huddleston his heirs and assigns forever a
certain tract piece or parcel of land situate lying
and being in the County and state aforesaid and
bounded as follows, viz on Second Broad River
beginning at a black oak on a ridge on the north
side of said River David Huddlestons second corner,
running thence south sixty four west ninety five
poles to a white hickory and the river bank, thence
south thirty seven east ninety poles to a white
walnut in an Island, thence East on David Huddleston
old line, thence along said line to the beginning,
it being part of a tract of land of four hundred
acres granted to the said David Huddleston Senr by
Patent from his majesty bearing date April the sixth
Anno Domini 1765 containing fifty acres more or
less, with the appurtainances thereunto belonging or
appertaining, together with all and singular the
privileges and rights hereditaments and possessions
in any wise belonging to the said David Huddleston
Senr doth by these presents warrant and defend the
said land and premises from himself his heirs and
assigns or any othere person or persons claiming the
same unto the said William Huddleston Junr his heirs
executors administrators or assigns in fee simple
forever. To have and to hold the said land and
premises unto the said Wiliam Huddleston Junr his
heirs and assigns forever according to the true
intent and meaning of these presents. In witness
whereof the said Daivd Huddleston Senr hath set his
hand and seal the day and year first above written.
