To all to whom these presents shall come greeting.
Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum
of fifty shillings for every undred acres hereby
granted ?? unto our Treasury by David Huddleston
Senr have given and granted and by these presents do
give and grant unto the said David Huddleston Senr a
tract of land containing of fifty acres lying and
being in our county of Rutherford, beginning at a
pine his old corner thence South forty eight east
eighteen poles to a post oak Moors corner thence
north twenty one east one hundred and sixty poles to
a white oak, thence South fifty three west he one
hundred and fifty poles to a Spanish oak and from
thence South forty six East sixty eight poles to the
Beginning; entered April the 10th day 1797 as by the
plat hereunto annexed doth appear with all ways
woods waters mines minerals profits hereiditaments
and appurtainances thereunto belonging or in anywise
appertaining to hold to the said David Huddleston
Senr his heirs and assigns forever; ??? and paying
to us such sums of money yearly or ??? as our
General Assembly may direct; provided always that
the said Grantee shall cause this grant to be en???
In the registers office of our said County of
Rutherford ??? the time limited by law otherwise the
same shall be sold?? And of none effects; In
testimony whereof we have caused these our letters
to be made patents and our great seal to be hereunto
affixed ?? Samuel Ashe Esqr our Govr Cap?? Genl and
Commander in Chief ?? & ?? the 18th day of December
in the 22nd year of our Independence and in the year
of our Lord 1797.
