This Indenture made this 31st day of August in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
three Between William Huddleston of the County of
Rutherford and State of North Carolina of the one
part and Elisha Blankinship of the County and State
aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the
said William Huddleston have for and in consideratin
of the sum of eight hundred dollars to him in hand
paid by the said Elisha Balnkinship at and before
the signing and sealing of these presents the
receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged
he the said William Huddleston for himself and his
heirs doth hereby bargain sell alien enfeoff convey
and confirm unto him the said Elisha Blankenship his
heirs and assigns forfever a certain piece or parcel
of land containing three hundred and forty four
acres and a half by estimation be the same more or
?? being a part of 3 tracts of land granted to the
said William Huddleston lying in the County of
Rutherford on both sides of Main Cain Creek (recept
so much thereof as is supposed to be taken by a
survey of Gloud Longs) one patent bearing date the
6th of April 176?, the other two patents bearing
date the 17th of December 179?, beginning on a
hicory bush on Isaac Sellers line and on the
original line of the old survey running thence South
18 W 90 poles to a black oak then S70E 82 poles to a
white oak saplin thence .. S47 poles to a black gum
then W100 poles to a pine the old corner thence N54W
208 poles to a sowerwood then N18E 176 poles to a
pine then W 30 poles to a pine, then N 26 poles to a
post oak then S75E 24 poles to a black oak then N9E
122 poles to a stake then E 24 poles to a red oak
then S 78 poles to a white oak then N82? Poles to a
black oad the old corner then S59E 132 poles to a
stake then S10W 24 poles to a pine then S45E 16
poles to a sycamore on the bank of the Creek thence
down the Creek as it meanders to a sycamore Sellers
corner thence with Sellers line S67E ?? poles to the
beginning which said pirce or parcel of land with
all woods waters and every other appurtenances
thereunto belonging or appertaining he the said
William Huddleston for himself his heirs executors
and administrators hath hereby sold sett over
conveyed and released and confirmed in open Market
to the said Elisha Blankinship ?? his heirs
Executors administrators and assigns and he the said
Wiliam Huddleston for himself and his heirs
Executors and administrators doth hereby covenant
and promise to and with the said Elisha Blankinship
his heirs and assigns that he the said William
Huddleston his heirs executors and administrators
shall and will warrant and forever defend the said
piece or parcel of land with all and every of its
mem?? And appurtenances free from all lawful claim
or claims of any person or persons whatsoever unto
the said Elisha Blankenship his heirs Executors
administrators and assigns forever in witness
whereof the said William Huddleston hath hereunto
set his hand and ?? the dy and year above wirttne
