This indenture made this twenty eight day of July in the year of lord God one thouseand seven Hundred & Ninety Eight between Isham Reaves of No. Carolina Rutherford County of the one part and Marcurial Reaves of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth that for an in consideration of one hundred and thirty dollars to the said Isham Reaves in hand paid by the said Marcurial Reaves at or before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof he doth herby acknowledge and therefore doth acquit and discharge the said Marcurial Reaves his heirs executors and administrators by these presents and the said Isham Reaves hath bargained and sold and confirmed unto the said Marcurial Reaves and his heirs a certain parcel of land lying in the County and State aforesaid on the Waters of Main Broad River, beginning on a white oak on the bank of the dead River of Main Broad River, thence along a line of marked tres to a beach on the long branch thence up the branch to the upper line of one hundrd and ninety three acres tract thence with said line to a white oak thence S? with said line to affirm thence West with said line for a Spanish line to a pine thence west with said line to a Spanish oak thence along a line to marked trees to the dead river thence up the dead river to the beginning, containing by estimation one hundred and sixty acres be the same more or less and all houses waters watercourses, appertinances whatsoever to the said premises hereby granted and the revision and revisions remand and remainders, rents, ?? and profits of ?? estate title claims & demands of him the said Isham Reaves of and to the said premises to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed unto the said Marcurial Reaves his heirs and assigns for ever to the proper use and behoof of him the said Mercurial Reaves his heirs and assigns for ever and the said Isham Reaves for himself his heirs executors adms doth covenant grant to the said Mercurial Reaves his heirs and assigns by these presents that the said Isham Reaves now at this time of sealing and delivering of these presents is S?? of a good and indefendable estate of inheritance hereby bargained and sold the said Mercurial Reaves in manner and form aforesaid and in witness whereof I hav unto set my hand and seal the day and year above written. This indenture made the eight day of August in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety eight between Mercurial Reaves of Rutherford County in the state of No. Carolina of the part and Samuel McMurtry of the same county of the other part witnesseth that the said Marcurial Reaves for and in consideration of the sum of eighty pounds to him in hand paid by the said Sam’l McMurtrey at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents ?? whereof is herby acknowledged and therefore the said Mark Reaves doth grant bargain sell & deliver unto the said Saml McMurtrey a tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County aforesaid on the North side of Main Broad River being part of two tracts of land the one granted to Isham Reves by patent dated one thousand seven hundred and eighty thre and conveyed to the said Mark Reaves by deed of conveyance bearing date July 28th 1798 the other being a part of a tract of land conveyed to Isham Reaves by Thomas Walker and from James Reaves to Mercurial Reaves by deed this day containing this day by estimation one hundred and eighty acres, be the same more or less bounded as follows, Viz Beginning at a secamore tree on the No. Bank of Broad River running thence by a line of marked trees near No. fifty six et seventy two poles to two small pines then no. fortyfive ?? forty poles to a white oak then no. seventeen Wt forty five poles to a black oak thence along the ridge path leades from Di? To gren wood fifty poles to the No. line of the said tract thence Et one hundred and twenty seven poles to a stake, thence ?? one hundred forty nine poles to a pine, thence ET twenty poles to a stake then a south t?? West eighty eight poles to a red oak then west with the old line to dickeys line ninety poles thence No. with dickeys line to the old corner up the meanders of the river to the beginning with the appertinances situate lying and being as aforesaid with their and every of their rights members and appertinances whatsoever to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the premises hereby granted mentioned hereby granted or by those presents intended to be with their and every of there ?? and advantages to the said Samuel McMurtrey and to his heirs and assigns for ever and the said Mark Reavesfor himself and his heirs and assigns said McMurtry and his heirs ?? that he the said Reaves now at the time of sealing and delivering of these presents that good right and all ?? to convey the same in manner and form aforesaid and that him and his heirs and assigns shall and will at all times warrant and defend the same to the said McMurtrey and his heirs for ever, in witness whereof the said Mark Reaves hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.
