This Indenture made this 26th day of January in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & eight
between John Moore Jun of the one part & William
McMorey both of the County of Rutherford & State of
North Carolina of the other part, Witnesseth that
for the Consideratin of the sum of twelve pounds
lawful money to him in hand paid before the sealing
of these presents the receipt whereof he doth
acknowledge & therefore doth release & discharge the
said Wm McMorey his heirs Exc’r & Adm’r & assigns by
these presents he the said John Moore hath granted
bargained sold alined and confirmed & by these
presents doth grant bargain sell & confirm unto the
said William McMorey all that tract of land piece or
parcel situate lying & being in the County aforesaid
on the West side of Brushy Creek beginning at a post
oak on the Road side leading to Vinzants old ford
running South 15 east 204 poles to a stake in
McMorey line then North 75 East 33 poles to a pine
his corner then with his other line North 20 East
128 poles to Vinzants corner inside line then No. 74
West with Vinzants line 90 poles to a line his
corner then No. 12 Esst 90 poles to a stake then
West 65 poles to a stake then South 75 West 60 poles
then South 15 East 76 poles to a small black oak
Mcmoreys corner then with his line Nouth 75 East 156
poles to the beginning containing by estimation one
hundred acres be the same more or less with all the
waters heredetaments appurtenances whatsoever to the
said premises hereby granted or any part thereto
belonging or in any wise appertaining or the claim
or claims what soever of him the said John Moore
unto the said McMorey his heirs or assigns forever
to the only proper use of him his heirs Exe’r &
Adm’r doth warrant and forever defend the above
bounded land unto the said McMorey by these presents
doth deliver the above land that he hath sold to the
said McMorey in manner and form aforesaid & that the
said premises now are bargained & sold with the …

warrant & defend by these presents & that the said
John Moore & his heirs all and singular the premises
hereby acknowledge this Day & Year first above
