July 20-MADISON LEE CUDD, 71, who lived in Gaffney until
1940, when he moved to Henrietta, was found dead near his home in Henrietta.
He apparently had been stricken while
on his way back home from visiting the post office and had fallen into
the drainage ditch by the
side of the street some 3 or 4 hours before his body
was discovered.
Funeral services were conducted at the
First Bapt. church in Henrietta, burial in the Arrowood cemetery
near Chesnee.
MR. CUDD is survived by his second wife,
MRS. ETHEL WOOD CUDD, Henrietta ; 3 daughters, MRS. EVELYN WHITE and MRS. CORNELIA
GUYTON, Gaffney and MRS. GAYNELLE GIBSON, Lincolnton, N.C., ; 5 sons, GRADY
L., DEN?NE CUDD, Sptbg., PAUL CUDD, Caroleen, J.D. CUDD and LURLIE CUDD ; a step-
daughter, MISS VIRGINIA GOODRICH, Henrietta; two sisters, MRS. FLORENCE BROWN,
Landrum and MRS. LEILA JOHNSON, Startex; 26 grandchildren and 2 g- grandchildren.
