July Session 1801
Ordered that Mrs. Joanna Alexander have leave of administration on the estate of Capt. John Alexander deceased and hath given bond in the some of one thousand pounds Henry Alexander & Capt. Jesse Alexander securities.
July Session 1803
Ordered that the administrator of John Alexander deceased have leave to sell part of the parashable part of the estate of John Alexander and make returns to next court.
July Session 1804
The petition for partition of lands of John Alexander Mathew Brickhouse and Dorcas his wife late Dorcas Alexander John Norman and Zilpha his wife late Zilpha Alexander of Isaac Alexander & Abey Ashberry Hezekiah Charles Jesse & Ann Alexander infant under the age of twenty one by Jesse Alexander their guardian.
January Session 1805
James Hoskins returned in court the dower of Joanah Alexander as laid off by jury appointed last term no clerk fee paid.
July Session 1805
Ordered that Samuel Spruill Moses E. Cator and Abner Alexander Esqrs. or a majority of them be appointed to ausite settle and divide the estate of John Alexander deceased among the heirs.
Ordered that Samuel Spruill M. E. Cator and Abner Alexander Esqrs. be appointed to lay off to the widow of John Alexander deceased her years allowanc out of said estate or a majority of them.
Ordered that the guardian of Hezekiah Alexander Charles Alexander Jesse Alexander and Ann Alexander have leave to sell part of the estate of said orphans and make returns to next court.
October Session 1805
Abner Alexander Esquire returned into court the audited accounts of the administratrix of John Alexander Capt. deceased with said estate and find a ballance of one hundred and thirty eight pounds 2/3 due to Joanah Alexander administratrix of said deceased which account is filed. Also a division of said estate among the heirs of said deceased and each equal share to be 50 pounds & 16 shillings which papers are filed.
Ordered that Samuel Spruill Moses E. Cator and Abner Alexander be appointed to divide the negroes of Jno. Alexander Capt. among the representatives and make return to next court.
July Session 1815
Ordered that Col. Jesse Alexander be appointed guardian protem to Jesse Alexander orphan of Jno. Alexander deceased.
October Session 1815
The division of negroes belonging to the estate of Jno. Alexander deceased was returned into court by Saml. Spruill Esqr..

Petition July Term 1804 for division of the lands of John Alexander deceased by John Alexander, Matthew Brickhouse and Dorcas his wife, late Dorcas Alexander, John Norman and Zilpha his wife, late Zilpha Alexander, of Isaac Alexander, & Aby, Ashberry, Hezekiah, Charles, Jesse & Ann Alexander infants under the age of twenty one by Jesse Alexander Esqr. their guardian and next friend, and heirs at law of John Alexander their late father deceased. At his death John Alexander was seized of several tracts of land includin 444 acres known as Midyetts Island on the east side of Scuppernong River joining John Brickhouse and 65 acres in Alligator near Hunts Creek
Petition July Term 1815 by Joanna Alexander widow of John Alexander, Matthew Brickhouse in right of his wife Dorcas, John Norman in right of his wife Zilpha, John McClease in right of his wife Abi, Charles Alexander and Jesse Alexander an infant by his guardian Col. Jesse Alexander requesting a division of the negroes that are part of the estate of John Alexander who died in 1801. At his death John Alexander left his widow Joanna Alexander and the following children his heirs at law viz. Dorcas now the wife of your petitioner Matthew Brickhouse, Zilpha now the wife of John Norman another of your petitioners, Isaac Alexander who sold his part of the said negroes of the said father John Alexander at his death to your petitioner Matthew Brickhouse, Abi the wife of John McClease another of your petitioners, Ashbury who sold his part of said negroes to your petitioner John Norman, Hezekiah who sold his part of said negroes to his mother Joanna one of your petitioners, Charles Alexander & Jesse Alexander two of your petitioners. John Alexander left the following negroes including their increase up to the time of the petition viz. Hannah Sarah Cherry Judy Cloe Cate & Mingo.

Jesse Alexander and Ashberry Alexander and perhaps others of this family migrated to Indiana.
