31 March 1816
In the name of God amen: I Henry Alexander of the county aforesaid being of sound & perfect mind & memory blessed be God I do this 3lst day of March in the year of our Lord 1816 I make & ordain this my last Will & testament in manner as following that is to say.
First - I lend to my well beloving wife Philis Alexander all the houshold goods & furniture & kitching furniture where she now lives one yoke of oxen & yoke chain & plow & all the stock belonging to the said land where she now lives, one quick lume with all her harness & one pare of iron wedges & all the fanning tools belonging to the said land, one negro man by the name of Isaac during her natural life one negro boy by the name of Robert, one negro boy by the name of Hardy provided that she keeps them clear of any expence to my estate the above named negroes is now in her possession is to remain hers during natural life
Item - I give & bequeabh to my well beloved son Isaac Alexander fifty acres of Cypress swamp lying on south side of the sound patend Thomas Hopkins Esqr. & one negro woman by the name of Plesant & all her encrease from this date one negro girl by the name of Nurve with all her increase three negro boys named Elisha George & Zacheriah now in his possesion to be his forever one hand mill one pare of iron wedges one heckle.
I Item - I give to my well beloved son John Alexander one piece of land on the south side of Alligator Creek known by the name of the Pines fifty acres more or less as the rites will make appear, one piece of land bought from Ozias Rhoughton eighty acres as the deed will make appear, more or less both of the above named land to be his forever one negro man by the name of Sam to be his foremr one negro girl by the name of Pleasant & her 6ncrease to be his forever one feather bed & furniture one hand mill one trumpet muzzell gun
Item - I give & bequeath to my well beloved son Henry Alexander my manner plantation whereon he now lives & all the land joining thereunto with all it improvements and advanted belonging thereunto held by several rights four hundred & twenty acres known by the name of the Newfound land to be his forever one negro woman by the name of Silvy & all her encrease from this date two negro girls by the name of Polly & Tamer with all their encrease one malatto boy David one negro boy by the name of Spencer one negro man by the name of Isaac at the death of my wife Phillis all of the above named negroes to be his forever now in his possesion one culling stone hand mill one Buccaneer Gun six pewter plates one broad ax two frows one pare of iron fire dogs one pare of fire tongs one iron trammel one tea kettle one hucle, one ox chain yoke ring & staple, one skillet
Item - I give & bequeath to my grandaughter Edna Swain wife of James Swain one negro boy by the name of Isaac to be hers forever in possesion of her mother, I also give her one negro woman Tamer and two negro boys by the name of Robert & 4rdy & Tamers increase from this date at the death of her mother to be hers forever.
Item - I give & bequeath to my grandaughter Elizabeth Alexander daughter of Isaac & Nancey his wife one negro girl by the name of Mariah & her increase to her forever I now in possesion of her father
Item - I give & bequeath to my grandaughter Marey Alexander daughter of Henry & Clarkey his wife one negro girl by the name Rebecca & her increase to be hers foreverItem - I give & bequeath to my grand son Henry Alexander Swain son of James Swain & Edna his wife one negro boy by name of Hamblenty to be his forever now in the possesion of his grand mother
Item - I give & bequeath to my three sons Isaac John & Henry one hundred acres of Juniper swamp lying on the head of the Creek to be theirs forever -Let it be so understood that the goods or things lent to my wife or left in her possession whatever the may be let them not be interiupted in any wise or in any manner during his natural life. The above named Legacies not to be altered nor changed in any wise
My will & desire is that my debts be paid out of the perishable part of my estate when all my debts are paid that the remainder part of my estate not interfering with the part lent to my wife consisting of houshold. goods & kitchen furniture & stock & so fourth be equally divided between my four children tint is to say Elizabeth Swain, Isaac Alexander John Alexander & Henry Alexander - Also the goods or things lent or left in the; care or possesion of my wife at her death to be equaled divided between my three sons that to say Isaac Alexander John Alexander and Henry Alexander
And I do hereby make & ordain my three sons Isaac Alexander John Alexander and Henry Executors to this my last Will & Testament in witness whereof I the said Henry Alexander have hereunto this my last will & Testament let my hand & seal the day &nd year above written. Signed Sealed in the presents of us

January Session 1819
The last will and testament of Henry Alexander Senr. was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of John McClees & Thos. Hopkins & ordered recorded - - same time Henry Alexander Junr. appeared & qualified as executor thereto ordered that letters testamentary issue thereon & that he proceed to sell the perishable estate of said deceased & account for the same as the law directs.
April Session 1819
Inventory & account sales of the estate of Henry Alexander Senr. deceased was returned on oath by the executor & filed.
July Session 1820
Henry Alexander Junr. returned on oath in open court an account sales of a part of the estate of Henry Alexander Senr. deceased to amount $17.71 & filed.
January Session 1823
Ordered that Samuel Spruill John Thoroughgood Frederick Davenport Edmd. Alexander & Lemuel Basnight or any three of them be appointed to audite settle & divide the estate of Henry Alexander Senr. deceased with his executor & make report to the next term.
April Session 1823
Report of auditors on the estate of Henry Alexander Senr. was returned to court in order to be filed.
January Session 1824
An inventory of John Alexander's ratable part of the perishable part of Henry Alexander Senr. property was returned to court on oath by Abram Pledger the administrator of said Jno. Alexander to amt. $31.44 & filed.
